So we all remember Oryx right? Big guy, had turtle feet, has taken entire worlds.
Well today I got bored and wanted to look for any kind of secret in regicide. Couldn't find much in-game so I tried something else. I went to the Ishtar collective:

Using their handy new transcript system I found out Oryx says something awfully....Strange.
*ORYX TRANSPORTS HIMSELF AND THE GUARDIAN*
ORYX: The Darkness is a gift. Let my will set you free.
So this is the point when we get teleported into that weird shadow realm and Oryx offers us something. He lightly offers freedom.
For those of you who don't know what Oryx does when he takes something I'd suggest you go read any one of the taken enemy cards.
Oryx points out his prey's fears and tell them there is a knife in front of the that is shaped like [a solution to their fear]
Taken knight card:
You are a Knight. Ancient warrior elite. Dreadful backbone of the Hive. You have scarred entire worlds.
You have been taken.
Set down your sword. Put down your boomer. The fight is not yet begun. True immortality awaits you.
What vows compel you? What drives you down the long centuries?
You fear death. Even as you visit nothingness on your foes, even as you gather tribute from your acolytes, you know that one day your strength will be outmatched. And your centuries of slaughter will end. So you practice your guard: you call up walls to protect you.
You betray the sword logic. You compromise the totality of your violence. Why protect your ground when you could take the enemy’s?
You need to make your guard into a weapon.
There is a knife for you. It is shaped like [no more fear].
Take up the knife. Hide no more. Take your new shape.
When we get teleported I think that was a last ditch effort to try and take us as he's likely never had a chance like this before. He also tries to to scare us by saying things like
your traveler's light cannot reach you here

what you call the darkness is the end of your evolution.
Then once you get teleported he offers you freedom. If he wasn't angry about you killing his son, he might have given you the more traditional "you are taken" speech.
I believe those last few moments you spent with Oryx was him trying to take you and that place is the place things go when they're taken. It's also possible that he tries to take you in the raid as well as when he teleports you to the fight the shade you end up inside that giant blight.
So, what do you think? Was Oryx trying to take us? Yay or nay.
Edit: just to clarify, I don't believe Oryx could actually take us. I do, however, believe that he tried to take us. He's probably never tried to take a guardian before as he was never presented with one in times before.

This makes alot of sense. The only thing that bothers me about this theory is that "supposedly" Guardians are dead, and that Oryx has the ability to only "take" living organisms (Which explains why Vex Harpies and Fallen Servitors are always normal because they are machines). However, this makes sense to me because I always tried to figure out what that dimension that we got transported was. In the Oryx raid, when we fight the Shade of Oryx, that dimension is called the Darkness Dimension. So if this is the same dimension that we are teleported to in the Oryx fight on Regicide (because there is no debuff or anything to signify) then this may be true and Oryx possibly new how to Take us, but because we were not living beings, he had to physically fight us to possibly supress our Light (Which is confirmed by his statement "The Travelers light cant reach you here") in order to take us. did i just rant a little and agree with you overall?
