Hi Guys, wanted to give my fellow Guardians a heads up. Maybe you are thinking about picking up a Microsoft XB1 Elite Controller. I wouldn't anymore. I have mine since April 2016, and now, August 2016 it is completely worn out.
- Right from the start of me unboxing it, i found it hard to insert the loading cable. I had to apply too much force to insert the plug intro the controller. Within a month of purchase the connector in the controller got loose and now the controller won't connect on the cable. Have to charge my battery pack in an other controller.
- After only 2 months the left trigger rumble has started to make this irritating high pitch noise when activated and in the end you will switch of Vibration completely because of it.
- in the 3rd month the left thumbstick started to show signs of drift and the resistance started to get less and less.
- in the 4th month the rubber-coating for extra grip started to wrinckle and bubble. Eventually the glue is all over the controller and the rubbers are loose on several places.
My average playtime is around 2 to 3 hours a day. I'll always take care of my controller, if it is not used, it is in it's case. No one else uses it. I don't throw with it or anything else.
When i bought a Elite 1TB xBox One, I found the included controller to be very inferior to the original 360 controllers. But it seems that this inferior-light-plastic included controller outlives a 'Elite' controller of 130 Euros. Unacceptable.
At the moment i've asked for a replacement in warrenty. I am in the Netherlands, so due to European laws I have 365 days of warranty. I will get a new one, or this one will be serviced. But if it will worn out again i will eventually make use of our consumer-protection and will demand my money back!
It should be obvious that a Controller with a pricetag of this magnitude should outlast a cheaper controller!
As i've said, just wanted to give my fellow Guardians a heads up. Maybe i've got a bad one, and recieve a better version. But nonetheless; Be warned.
Considering to order a SCUF Controller. Any Guardians out here that can tell me about the quality of a SCUF controller? The Thumbsticks? The Grip Pro Add-on? Does it stick? Does it come loose?
'Elite' Pricetag=Check! 'Elite' Quality=Uncheck!
With Regards,
Chivas Regal NL

You can ignore this post if you answer yes to at least 1 of the following: -You don't drop your controller -You can take care of your electronics -You don't take out game anger on the controller like a 5 year old -You know how to plug cables into the controller PROPERLY -You're at least halfway intelligent
-
I've dropped my regular Xbox controller several times and it still works great. My original controller had an issue with the d pad because of beer. Never saw the need to spend money on an elite. Might consider a customer coloured one they just announced at e3.
-
Only controller issue I've had this console cycle was one of the thumb sticks doesn't register the moves I make.
-
Man I'm triggered! We're not guardians, honestly makes me cringe. And learn to look after your Xbox controller!
-
I have longer sessions with my elite and it still hasn't broke on me
-

-
had mine since day one of them being released. still have it without issues.
-
I'm also not happy with my elite. After three months, the plastic that keeps the right bumper attached on the inside snapped, so my right bumper often came off. Soon after, the same issue happened to my left bumper. And while I'm happy the sticks didn't wear away the borders for them, I was disappointed when my left stick became slightly loose. I was expecting the elite to last longer than a standard controller under normal, everyday use. It did not meet that expectation.
-
Hope this doesn't happen to me. I'm getting the gears of war elite controller because I'm an idiot who spend $200 on just a controller.
-
The controller that came with the Xbox is firm what ain't fine is the $70 halo 5 Locke controller I got for free with my Xbox from a deal with Best Buy it no longer connect to the Xbox and is now completely useless!
-
I think the Elite and Scuf controllers are all a scam honestly. I highly doubt you magically going to become much better if you spend over $100 on a controller. People probably just think they get better when in reality they might be able to win a few extra gunfights or whatever.
-
Not sure if you're a scuf shill, or this thread is legit. Hmmmm...
-
I don't have one, but I have a few friends with scuffs and they have had theirs completely quit working between 3 to 6 months.
-
I have also only ever gotten two new ps4 controllers
-
Says fellow guardians
dies
My dog ate the rubber grips off of both the analog sticks I use, so I don't even have to worry about them breaking apart. Other than that, I've had both the bumpers jam and had to 'force' them to work again you might say, but that was from dropping it and was 100% my fault. Sometimes I feel like my hands sweat more than usual when using the elite but maybe that's in my head. Other than that, it's easily my favorite controller by far.
-
You must've gotten some faulty one or something. I have had mine since it's release and have had absolutely no issues.
-
Mine the rubber grip is coming loose in a few spots. It is annoying but not unusuable just yet. Had mine since last christmas.

I've dropped my ps4 controller a ton and it's still kickin😎 got it 2 years ago with the Playstation
-
Yeah xbone controllers are shit. Mine got worn out in a few months
-
I love my Elite controller. Never had a problem with it. Works great!
-
I had a scuff 360 controller that I bought which was a wired only controller. Where the wire connected to the controller started to short after only a couple months, they charged me to fix it and took them almost 5 months to get the controller back to me. They have the worst customer service I have dealt with. This was a $200 controller which is $50 more than my Elite. So far my Elite is doing good, although the left stick is starting to wear out. But stay the -blam!- away from scuff, they are a terrible company.
-
Mines fine after about 5 months
-
Had mine since March. Not a single problem.
-
No issues with mine though I know some people who have gotten some duds. I have a 3 year replacement warranty on mine.
