Hopefully this exploit is a mistake by Bungie and not the direction of this game.

As shown in the video, you can convert real $ to Legendary Marks. If you are willing to pay for the silver and spend the time conveying it into Legendary Marks, you can buy planetary materials and rank up with factions as much as you like. Except for artifacts (which drop in Iron Banner btw) you can reach max light without having to actually play the game.
This is ridiculous and the game needs a hot fix ASAP.

You're looking at "buying" 3-5 marks for $2. It costs 10 marks to buy 20 materials. It costs 25 materials to gain 50 reputation. And you need 2500 reputation to level up a faction. With all those numbers you can calculate that to level up a faction a single time using this method would cost you $250-$418. No sane person would ever spend so much money for so little gain. Anyone that does clearly wasn't going to hold on to that money for long anyway. At least they'll be funding Destiny for me.

Изменено (LunaFV): 10/5/2016 4:45:20 AMAnyone who uses this method is wasting their money. 3 marks an armor piece, meaning it takes around 67 Iron Engrams to get to 200 (Assuming that you spend all 200 Marks on mats). Each engram costs 5 Silver Dust, so that's a grand total of 335 Silver Dust. You'd need around 55 Radiant Treasures to aquire said Silver Dust (Assuming that you dismantle the exotic ornament that comes with the singular silver dust). Using planetary materials only, you'll rank up your faction once, maybe twice. Not worth it, and virtually useless to players below 380 because a potential single light level boost on 2-3 pieces of gear will not make any difference.
-
Yes, someone is going to pay money to buy legendary marks to buy easily attainable planetary materials to slowly rank up their factions. Just for 385 light level drops. Totally pay to win.

Alphy ate pork & beans, his tummy is not feeling so swell. Jesus filmed it all night spanking that donkey till sunrise, keeps dribbling down my leg, I just let the cat lick it up.
-
That poor, poor horse. It's been beaten to death so many times that a ghost couldn't revive it. Let it RIP.
-
When OP is a dumbass
-
Shut up Meg.
-
And what are you winning exactly?
-
Pay to win implies that you have to pay in order to get a game winning weapon and or piece of armor. So no its not pay to win
-
Who pays hundreds of dollars just to gain a few light levels??
-
How much does Silver cost?
-
This is just ridiculous. This post is ridiculous I meant to say, not the "pay to win".
-
Haha.....what? This is not pay to win, a term that is used unjustifiably/incorrectly almost as much as "OP" or "god roll" So what? Some douche spend a shit ton of real coin to what? Buy a bunch of 350 gear, most of which isn't worth crap. Or wait. How about alllll those faction packages you can score, hoping that some of them will give you a slight light upgrade. Grinding light and gear is all too easy anyways. Who gives a shit if some dumbass wants to waste a bunch of time and money with this? Worry about your rant when they put an actual pay to win element in the game. ...not to mention, all this crap will be obsolete in a year anyways. Let people waste their time and money
-
Vendor items would just get you to 350, which doesn't take long anway, likely to be patched soon.
-
Lmao if they're willing to spend that much for Legendary Marks I think they should get more, cause really 3 fucking marks?? Vendor items aren't even good.
-
If anybody is actually spending that much money to reach max light then I think they deserve it. For how much money bungie would make i think its completely reasonable to throw em a bone and let him have max light. The more profit bungie makes off things like this the more resources they can afford to make things like the april update that gave us new game content for free.
-
What's even the point of being 385 or 400 without playing?
-
Wait, you mean someone wasted time to make video about this...the hell is wrong with people today?? I'm sure someone will do the math and figure out how much it will cost to max out on vendor items and then enough marks to convert to planet materials for faction ranks to hit max light I've got over 2k in spinmetal since Rise release just running around plaguelands, and I never stop to farm it...just from engrams and the ghost perk Nah...go right ahead and pay for this, please
-
Not practical at all, you would go broke before you ever got to 385. Anymore ridiculous things you wanna blow out of proportion?
-
Nobody would be moronic enough to spend their money on that.
-
Your kidding ? 10 bucks for 3 legendary marks NO THANKS
-
Who need legendary mark?
-
Lol. I make six figures before taxes and I still wouldn't use this "pay to win".
-
Haha. Who would spend that much money on that?
-
can you even fathom how much that would cost? Materials trades for +25 rep. No sane person would do that.
