The audience applauds enthusiastically. The spiked man stands and I step closer to the second man, offering my hand to help him up. He regards it with suspicion and asks, "You aren't gonna throw me again, are you?"
Before I can reply, he takes my hand and pulls himself up as he mumbles, "Praise the Light that's over."
He follows his companion back into the throng, and Miel yells over the noise, "Who wants to go next?!"
Once again, dozens of hands wave in the air. Miel points at a man near him. He enters the circle, followed by a woman and a Vandal.
"That's more like it," Miel approves, "I take it you tots want to take all three of 'em?"
"Yes," the woman answers avidly.
"Well," Noel says over the comms, adjusting the hood of his cloak and stepping into the ring, "Guess the old Fireteam is back in business."
Miel pulls in the opposing trio to speak to them.
"Its not old if there's a child in it," Avery remarks, joking at his young age.
Noel readily counters her repartee, "Put in your dentures and say that to my face, grandma!"
"Can't hear you, youngster" she retorts, "My hearing aid is off."
Noel laughs and returns, "I said put down your knitting and-"
"Commander," a man interrupts on the comms, "This is Captain Nebo."
"Ah," Noel mutters, "Right in the middle of my comeback."
"What is it, Captain?" Avery inquires.
"The Winter Kell has called a meeting," Nebo explains, "I've already got the Wolf and Kings Kells on the line. The Consensus is on its way. We need the Vanguard down here."
"Alright," Avery acknowledges, "We'll be there soon. Handler!"
Miel turns from the trio to look at her, and she notifies him, "The Vanguard is needed in the Council Room."
Miel nods understandingly, then bellows to the gathering, "ALRIGHT, MOPPETS! The Vanguard has some important business to get back to!"
Complaints rise, but Miel cuts them off, "I'll hear no whining about it! You know they've got good reason! Now, who wants to challenge these three?!"
He indicates the team next to him, giving Avery, Noel and me a dismissive nod. Noel leads the way out, and the crowd parts to let us through. Noel pats a few shoulders as he passes by, exchanging farewells. We clear the assembly and make our way to the Council Room.

Nice action, man. You describe the fights well. Bump!
