I was just thinking about how PR ripped off Gundam, NGE, and other Mecha vs Giant monsters anime/films/comics. I then realized it didn't, it just grabbed an ideas from them and smacked it together; for example:
Pilots need to breath in yellow fluid to mentally connect (Something from Evangelion, not sure if in any other film/anime)
Monsters or Kaiju (A lot of films/Anime/etc)
Giant Mechs (Gundam, and other mecha media...)
That's just some ideas, but there are plenty. Just think of this as an update to the media genre of Mechs and Monsters. And besides, NGE fans; this is gonna be the closest thing we'll ever have to a live-action Evangelion film.
So what do you think? Discuss!

*sigh* You could say that the anime you listed "Ripped Off" the original Godzilla movies, which were "Ripped Off" of Japanese comics. Guillermo Del Toro said that this movie was a homage to the Japanese monster movies. He deliberately looked to film and anime and made a derivative work that was a tribute to that. To say he "ripped off" Anime is one of the most idiotic things a person could say. Next, people will say that Halo was unoriginal since it was a homage to classic Sci Fi (Ender's Game, Starship Troopers, Ringworld and Aliens to name the main sources) The "HURR DURR they ripped off ________ DURRRRRRR" game can only lead to concluding that everyone ripped off everything, that there is no originality left in the world, and a date with a plugged in toaster in your bathtub is the only solution. Or people who cry about originality in art could shut their pie holes and just sit down and enjoy the movie.
