Hello all,
This is to all the people getting shit from the stuck up crybabies complaining about us posting lfg threads...
Yeah that would've been my attitude a few days ago, but here's the deal. You're wrong. There are places made specifically for destiny and recruitment.
Look at it this way, you don't go to the post office to make a withdrawal from your bank account.
Lastly, if you have no respect for the other forum members, please at least have respect for the ninjas who have to waste their time redirecting the threads.
Edit :
Unfortunately quoted from a ninja in response to the request to start issuing warnings about wrongful posts ...
I know that I don't feel comfortable doing that.
Warnings and bans are for violations of the membership agreement, the ToS and CoC. Creating a topic with an "less than accurate or less than desirable tag" is not a violation of any of those.
I can/will retag like a machine during my time on the forums (which is limited, but I am here when I can be), but I will not warn or ban someone for posting a topic that offends someone else's sense of order or tidiness.
I'm sorry, but this is just wrong. First he shouldn't have to waste his time doing this, second... If I park my car in a handicap spot, I still get a fine.
UPDATE:
This post has gotten a lot of feedback, even from ninjas. As it stands now, the wrongful postings are not banable, so we need to just keep educating and down voting. Muting is an option if you don't play destiny.
Update:
Still waiting on a response to see if reporting is helpful or not.
Response received from Shacker:
It helps if the member is being disrespectful or vulgar, or generally violating the CoC.
Edit: FYI - posting in the wrong place does not violate the CoC
Let's continue doing our best by doing what helps the ninjas.

It just blows my mind when they try to argue with the ninjas. Even DeeJ.
-
I'm just glad the vog and lfg crap is gone. No more spam filling up my beloved #gaming.
-
Ratchet it down a notch and you'll have a supporter. ;) Yep, mis-tags/mis-posts aren't a banable offense. The new forum just went live. It'll take time to foster new behavior. I appreciate your passion, though. The parking metaphor is a bit much. I liken this to newspaper articles (discussion forums) vs. the classifieds (LFG).

Might as well add an observation and comment of my own since the topic is ongoing. I just took a peek at #recruitment. You may want to too. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Topics/0/1/0/Recruitment Go ahead, I'll wait. Back? Good. Did you notice what I noticed? I saw a forum/tag where there was an INCREDIBLE amount of activity, members, posts and people connecting. At 25 threads per page, there were FIVE pages where the last reply was <5 minutes old. That is a CRAP-TON of players connecting. So, I see a couple of "take aways" from that visit. 1) The members who are misposting into #gaming and #community are a small, VERY small minority. Many of whom don't know that there is a HUGE pool of potential players they could be getting their LFG topics in front of. 2) This gives me the idea that the better/more we educate misposts, and show/inform them that instead of "maybe getting a reply, maybe not" that they can REALLY benefit from posting in the most appropriate area. Sure, their posts are a disruption and/or distraction in the non-recruitment forum/tag, but the really sad thing is that they are unaware that they are missing out on precisely what they want/need. For those folks who are copypasta-ing in educational and helpful advice? Thank you. I give you my word that when I see those posts and if there are replies, I open up and look into those replies. If someone is rule-violating when being given good, correct and helpful advice in a polite way? They are being warned/banned as appropriate (when I see it occur). Anyway, just some additional information to add to the topic/discussion. TLDR: #Recruiting is getting TONS of action and the people who post there are getting what they are looking for... and getting it FAST. The misposters may be interested in knowing that.

You sound like you voted for the Patriot Act. Sieg Hial comrade

Good lord, you people are such elitists. I understand organization, I understand efficiency, and I even understand that this forum was wrongfully cluttered with stuff that shouldn't have been here. I appreciate the effort to keep the organization process polite and smooth. But you guys don't need to turn this into a crusade against some malevolent lower class of gamers, because it isn't. Anyone who was trying to recruit here was doing it by way of misunderstanding, and they were likely new users unaware of the established customs here (I understand customs, too). They were just here looking for people to play games with, isn't it logical to assume that's what the #Gaming forum is for?
Look at it this way, you don't go to the post office to make a withdrawal from your bank account
Bad analogy, because you can infact withdraw money from your bank account at a post office, or anywhere else that offers EFTPoS.

Изменено (LagTime999): 11/18/2014 5:52:35 PMThis would all have been solved if Bungie had PUT IT IN THE GAME!!!!!! To use your analogy...the bank put the ATM in the post office.

Agreed, for a happy moment it looked like gaming was back. But people seem too stupid to actually read. As long as they are posting in the wrong place i'm down voting and reporting if they act like assholes.

*Reads title and first sentence* *Raises pitchfork w/ heavy amount of refutation to boot* *Reads rest of thread* *Lowers pitchfork* You almost got me there for a second, lol. Well said bro.

Im telling you these forums really did hurt people. They must have ruined their lives ever since destiny came out. To me it seems like they chat all day on forums and not do anything else. Its funny though.
-
If the ninjas/mentors and Deej allowed anyone to post anywhere the forums would be in such as mess and would be unprofessional so I respect them for making this changes. I really don't understand why people are complaining about these changes however I suspect that these are the first forums they have ever visited.

Изменено (Lifts Her Tail): 11/17/2014 5:02:36 PMGood analogy op Sure it may not be Against the rules, but it is still annoying. There is a reason sub forums exist. To keep shit organized. When someone comes to the gaming sub forum they most likely would like to discuss gaming. Not to see a flood of request for partners in Destiny. Same goes if someone would want to talk about destiny. They would not want to see that sub forum spammed with non destiny topics. Just use some common sense and be curtious of of others.
-
Do your parents hate all of you?
-
Are you implying the gaming sub forum is a special needs gathering place for the handicapped?
-
Wait...you don't withdraw money from the post office...this explains a lot

*throws roses*

I'd like to make another point. The ninjas were so overwhelmed that they actually asked for our help.
