I can't imagine having to earn all the red borders again, even if the majority of them aren't great. I pretty much only use them now on Raid weapons at this point, but new and returning players really need a way to catch up. That means end game activities aren't a good match, since the players that need them aren't likely to run those. Personally I think Xur would be the perfect fit for this, once a week for a few Strange Coins you get one before having to wait until next week. We are already capped to have only one in your inventory at a time, at least the last I checked, so it's not like you could save a bunch up and blast through them each Season to get fully crafted weapons early.

Oh yes!! It would currently take me 2 full episodes + another act 1 to gather enough to be able to craft the season of plunder weapons. That means that I can't use harminisors on anything else... so I'm gonna have to farm the hell out of presage, vox obscura and seraph shield to get the rest that I'm missing. That could be dozens of completions!!
