Is Thorn REALLY op?

Any DoT based weapon is OP and shouldn't exist within a FPS.

I believe 99% of that reason you die from it is hope. People believe that thorn is some power house op weapon of death that as soon as they see the burn they give up and don't even really try. Anyone with half a brain will very quickly work out it is out gunned by pretty much everything. 3 body shots to kill if you're hanging around for 3 body shots then you were gonna die no matter what gun they used.

The thorn is still super accurate. I wish all hand cannons where that accurate.

6 RepliesI think it is still a hair to OP for a 320 weapon. I would like to see it dropped to a 4 shot body with poison kill. Maybe 2 per tick stacking like it is. Right now most of the hand cannons are 2 shot head 1 shot body. I think it should be the same. Let the poison be for tracking and disablement more so than death.

MIDA Thorn and TLW are all about even. Best guns in the game (primaries) for PVP but they are exotics. They shine in their intended ranges and each one can easily destroy the other if put in the right situation.

Went against many thorns in CD the other night... If you cant outshoot them with a solid scout (not that hard i promise) - then when you see your screen flash green quit sitting still like a retard

I think thorn should be tfc archetype, and burns only on precision.

Got 3 shotted by a Thorn player yesterday, wasn't expecting them to use it so I counter it with my Devil You Know and Queensbreaker Bow xD

Why can't we all look at these apparently OP weapons and say 'that is a great gun'. So much emphasis on this is OP, that is OP. Thorn, Mida, last word, they are all great guns to use. With so many people using these guns, all with differing opinions I might add. There will never be balance. Some people aren't happy until a gun has been rendered useless, and then low and behold, come all the complaints about how bungie have ruined it
