Anteater error + game crash in 6v6 only (looking for cause and workarounds)
I've been having a very odd trouble lately, this has been a minor annoyance since before this last update but after said update, whenever I get an anteater error code in crucible, my game will immediately crash. It happens without warning and even in the middle of combat. These errors have been happening for around 2 seasons now, and before this update it would just respawn me after a few seconds instead of crashing my game.
I've ruled out it being a connection issue on my end, since these errors (and the crashes after the last patch) only ever happen when I play 6v6 pvp, and I have experienced no lag or other symptoms of a bad connection. I have also never had this anteater error show up when playing Trials, or any pve gamemode.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening and any workarounds to stop it from happening? Anteater as an error code doesn't really give me that much information on what is actually causing these issues.
Check your antivirus/firewall settings and logs; that sounds like it's interfering (i.e. mishandling the PvP packets) causing the game to crash. By the way, do the crashes get logged somehow in Windows?
