Banned clan name
A while back I posted about my clan’s name being banned. This clan was formed in 2014 right after launch of D1. It was a play on a popular 80’s kids move and the Boon Dock Saints. With in the last year a slang version of our name has become popular. Our name was banned. Today we finally get news that our clan has been banned permanently from ever having a name again. No warning at all. No appeal process. Just here’s a bunch of random numbers your clan will be known as forever.
Here’s my feedback. Bungie you’ve gone too far to one side in policing what’s “offensive”. Step out of your bubble and look around before you start running off people that pay for your games. Your actions seem very oppressive, comrades.

1 ReplyBro its like a 2 week ban. Old clan I was in "Transcendently" was banned because apparently woke ahh bungie somehow found "trans" offensive. Which made no sense since they contradicted themselves with that one. Turns out, the name was only banned for 2 weeks

1 ReplyThey were once the fun Dev now they are driven only by money. They don’t care about their players, they ship out buggy expansion after buggy expansion. No Quality Control, no play testers, just shove garbage in our faces and make us pay for it. They should be ashamed of themselves. Give the game to a Dev team who has passion and actually cares about their players.

I do believe this is gone too far. Who decides what is offensive now? A bot? No one at Bungie is reviewing every name and deciding that. I do think a team at Bungie did put every thing potentially offensive in a program to identify "potential offensive" words even though no one is actually offended. Give your heads a shake....

Even if they suddenly deem the word Goon offensive after it’s been part of the name for a decade, absolutely unacceptable to not be allowed to rename the clan.
