Been playing for almost 11 years, started on pc during forsaken back on blizzard. Haven't missed a single season or content drop yet. Always been on Mnk Just curious as to why I'm so bad at sniping in 6's, 3's I'm fine but I can't hit anything in IB or control. I hope it's me issue so I can fix it. Don't know if the engine changed along the way either, during Forsaken and ShadowKeep I was crazy at sniping everywhere in Destiny 2 then Beyond light dropped and the whole game felt different, but nothing changed really. Might just be me, but pvp hasn't felt good since then. I'm great at sniping in different Halos, and probably the best at Titanfall but I just miss how Destiny sniping felt. Just hope someone has insight to my issue. I would love to enjoy sniping again, but I just can't now. Thanks in advance, worst comes to worst I'll play something else for PvP.

Hypothesis: It can be considered less useful / more selfish to bring a sniper into 6s objective mode (control) vs say clash. The snipe set up can take a bit more time so you are not really capturing cps (those guys generally have 0 to lil captures, high KD/kda but less defeats and of course score) for that 1 shot they are looking for. Not saying its not skillful, or has effect on the battlefield but def hard to see in data. Test: So I wonder if you've seen a difference when another 6 is offered instead of Control? Or test this if you can find the population in another 6s. Note: I personally think it is good to make Control > GEN POP > Casual and so I have no problem with snipers being something ineffective in the mode. As you say > do your thing in 3s consider it wildly different. Wish we did have a mode (along with a cool reason) to play a weapon specific loadout mode... I think an event like this at least could be really interesting. -
In 6's the pressure of needing to fire a shot is higher because in 10 seconds your situation can change into a shitshow That's basically the difference between 6's and 3's Personally I would see if you could hold choke points and if a situation is unfavorable just leave it. Basic rule, any damage is good damage and perhaps a teammate is nearby to finish your kill

You're constantly dealing with more angles and more threats. Threes is ultimately very controlled, and you can know with more certainty almost exactly where a head will be. The general chaos of 6s and less time to plan an angle generally make it harder than in 3s.

Imagine the game copes far worse with 12 in a lobby than 6… Then there’s the controller issue, bungie have never liked m and k, sniping on m and k feels absolutely terrible (it’s near aimbot on controller)

Flinch, there is more to look at in 6v6, and the sniping nerfs.

They increased flinch and general sniper behaviour. In 6’s I also think sniping is harder but it’s a bit more chaotic and amount of ammo vs amount of opponents is less than 3’s. Also primaries got stronger.
-
also, there's a lot of input cheaters spending all their time in the air these days, moving at insane speeds and hitting all their shots. its -blam!- mental and they need to do something about it. I've uninstalled until the cheaters are dealt with

It’s tough to pre aim vs 6 players

6s is the same as 3s in terms of sniping if your missing that’ll be you Only diff is more OPPs to shoot and more that can shoot you
