Surprisingly I met a player that wanted to report my Dad who is 72 (they didn't know it was my dad), and I was playing with my dad at the time in the EAZ.
My dad's not an elite player or a min-maxer and neither am I, but he's ok and he's currently trying to grind the armor before the event ends. I was helping him.
We play the game to have fun together
After a bit the player got upset because my dad wasn't killing bosses at that time. But I've played with my dad a lot in the EAZ. My dad does go after the bosses, even if he doesn't always get there the most expedient way possible, and if he sees someone killing a boss, he runs for the next one because it's the best way to farm a lot of key chances at the end.
The player immediately said they were going to get a temp ban on my dad for doing nothing - later admitting it was because he thought my dad wasn't killing bosses.
I found out later the player was only in there to farm boxes (which honestly I see no point in doing right now for me and my dad except to complete the weeklies because... we haven't finished the magnificent set in order to start farming better pieces of armor.) The other player said they were farming the boxes for enhancement prisms, etc. (ok fine)
Then the player said we should have gotten a full group instead so they wouldn't have to report us and get a temp ban placed on us. (but... shouldn't that player have formed a grind group to avoid a situation like this?)
Ok... enough of that... it went on for a while... and I called that player out for absolutely destroying my dad's and my mood for playing by harassing us.
That player said they had already gotten several players temp banned for not (in my opinion) 'playing the game the way they want them to play.'
Anyone else have a similar experience? How likely is this to be real?

Temp ban - not going to happen. Your dad can play however he likes and so long as he’s not obviously cheating/hacking etc then Bungie won’t entertain this at all. Don’t worry, this is an empty threat my friend
