I used to be the biggest destiny fanboi. Truly. Played since d1 beta. We've all heard this story.
Personally, right now, I feel like this game is just not great. Everything is recycled. They haven't had a quality creative thought in a long time.
I told myself I'd play this game to it's end. I still want to. It's been a part of my life for so long. But I don't want to be let down again.
If FS is just more bad corny story, more bounties, more same things...which I do think it will be...I think it'll be a let down.
Time will tell of course. Just thinking on it.

Yeah but also zebras Its got too much riding on it to get good and nothing ever truly lives up to the hype. Plus there's just no way bungie can deliver after lightfall being such a pos.
-
Certainly. This is just the usual hype train before the bitter disappointment sets in.
-
It's Bungies way. Overhype the hell out of it and underperform. The content is never that good.
-
Given the fact that their goal for the last few years was to use everything that is wrong about a game, it most likely will be a letdown for a lot of people. What bothers me the most is that they went out of their way to use carrots, F.O.M.O, and 10-year-old requests to try to keep people around instead of creating a decent game. It's why pre-orders are at an all-time low and they are spending all this time trying to convince everyone everything is going to be okay. If you have to try that hard, you are basically saying everything is not going to be okay.
-
Considering the nerfs being far more substantial than any of the "buffs" they are giving us, yeah. Final Shape is going to be one of the worst dlcs out there at this rate.
-
I think it will be fun doing new things and having new toys, then we'll shave off all the things we need to do for some new stuff and slowly boil down to grind for godrolls. Then it'll be same-ol-same-ol. Seasons will still be a vendor with weekly stuff for stuff and a glorified horde mode or repeated missing thing with different paths. Everyone will cry and moan about everything they've nerfed and removed untill they find next-overpowered-thing then they'll go back to telling each other to get good. Then most will stop playing. Then maybe, juat maybe, I'll finally be free.
-
Honestly, I don’t think it will be. I think it will be far better than Lightfall. Hoping for it to top Witch Queen, for me. I don’t think it will be on the levels of TTK or Forsaken, but I think it will be good. Still need to buy it but keep putting it off.
-
I'm looking forward to concluding the story... seems to me the last few seasons (and forsaken/witch queen) have been solid story lines. The stand tutorial (or lightfall campaign) was somewhat lacking, but still had some decent narrative progression (albeit only at the very start and very end). However, if I hear (or implied) 'this was all part of the plan' in TFS then I'm going to be very disappointed!! In the past, the stories have been... oh these are bad guys, we need to kill the bad guys to get a thing, we need to kill some more bad guys to use the thing, we need to kill the big guy when we uses the thing and yay!!! .. things are only slightly worse than before!!!

What's up with the zebras?

Bungie does their best work with their backs against the wall. If there’s one thing Lightfall did, it was putting the company in danger. Either Final Shape succeeds and they save themselves like they’ve done before, or it fails and the company has to cancel all projects other than Marathon, which is too far along to cancel by now.

its gonna be a major letdown, they are to desperate to make the game work,. enhance basicly EVERY gun. its no longer a looter shooter game. its a crafting shooter. all guns are the same,no unique guns like in D1. My guess is: MAJOR DISASTER and game is gonna be on minimal players after 2months

What answer were you expecting by posting here? That fact that the positive is over 30% rn is crazy to me tbh.
-
No. I think it will be a struggle even for the haters.
If FS is just more bad corny story, more bounties, more same things...which I do think it will be...I think it'll be a let down.
No wonder, but right now, no one can tell. So far, I've like what I have seen.

I honestly think Final Shape will be a good DLC, probably on par with Which Queen, That said, I'm still out after this either way. Destiny'Bungies live model just doesn't work for me and I don't want to play catch up anymore. Episodes look the damn same as seasons to me.
-
No. I think it will just be confirmation bias: the DLC. People who are wanting/expecting to be let down will be. People who aren't, won't be.
-
Depends on your expectations. Mine are pretty low already.

The Final Slap. 🤔
-
It will likely be a letdown. This expansion should have been the biggest yet. Instead, we get what looks like something they scrambled to put together. I think the only thing I'm excited about is the new enemies. We should have had new subclasses, but instead, we get the rehash subclass and some wack rng class items.
-
It will be an Avengers: Endgame level of fumbling and then we'll get to watch Destiny fizzle out like the MCU. I have 0 faith that there will be a satisfying conclusion to a 10 year journey. So much so that I'll be focusing the Varlamore content in Oldschool Runescape, prepping for P4 Season of Discovery, and finally playing Tears of the Kingdom. I'll get TFS when it goes on sale within a month or two. It's what the shareholders deserve.

Out of the 10 friends I have who played this game, none of them have pre-ordered Final Shape. Final Shape is in 2 weeks, I thought it was still a couple months away. Not looking forward to it because I do not trust Bungie anymore. This is supposed to be the last chapter in the Light Vs Darkness saga. If it is not the best DLC they have done, it will have been a failure. -
This poll here on this board??? That's a joke, right? 100% without doubt whatsoever.....a resounding YES. In a landslide.
-
I'm looking forward for the end of the saga.
-
to early to tell, story wise i think is near impossible to beat WQ
-
I’m hoping it’s up there with the best Destiny DLCs, but only time will tell. The new enemies look great. Prismatic looks like it could be fun to experiment with (shame it’s not a brand new subclass though). The location looks really interesting — I’m keen to explore these fragmented areas (memories?) and see how they change over time. My main concern is the amount of free content that’s been dropped recently. How did they manage to do all that, but TFS got delayed? Anyway, it’s a video game, not a trip to the dentist. I’m looking forward to it.
