So, I thought of this last night. Im pretty sure I know what the update's going to be, but let's start at the beginning. We don't know much, but we do know that Bungie is (and has been for a while) devoting all of their efforts to create Destiny 2. Postponing the release only confirmed that they just need more time. But at the same time, they know they have to give us [i]something.[/i] What's the easiest way to do that? [b]Add a means to advance Y1 gear to max level. [/b] This would be veryyyy effective, because it would keep us happy, but they wouldn't have to create a bunch of new content: • Add upgrade path for Y1 gear (I think it will be etheric light) • Prison of Elders returns at 320, 340, and 350 light (whether it'll be new bosses or just leveled up old bosses, idk) and new weapon drops • Fusion rifle nerf • General weapons tweaking [b]Upgrade path: [/b] Use etheric light from PoE to raise light of all legendary/exotic gear to 350 light [i]They would literally have to "add" almost nothing! They'd just be giving us what we should already have. It's a shame they have to resort to tactics like this to manufacture new content.[/i] They don't want to say anything publicly yet because they need this "new content" to last us as long as it can. The more players that delete their Y1 gear, the better. Also they would want to prevent us from stock piling etheric light, armor cores, weapon cores, etc. Compare this to when HoW was released. It was the same thing. They needed to focus their efforts on TTK as much as they could, so a big part of their update was making it relevant to play old content again. I'd put money down that this is their next update. What do you guys think? [b]Post update edit:[/b] Judging from the pictures at least, it seems PoE will definitely be making a comeback in April. Now it remains to be seen whether or not they'll allow us to ascend our level old gear to Y2 levels with etheric light. Either way, I'd start stock piling etheric light, and weapon/armor cores.
