Orûnn, Billy, and Paltat were in the heat of battle along with hundreds of other Bubbies right outside the Anomaly Vault, while the Krall made a slow advance to get within it. If the Bubbies couldn’t defend even one of their planets, then they might as well let the Krall win. Orûnn: So Billy! What is even in this Place!? Orûnn clenches his hand into a fist and punches in the direction of a few Krall. A burst of black dust sends them flying back and even kills one. Billy: This Vault holds thousands upon thousands of strange objects that my people have found throughout our history! It holds everything from a light bulb that squirts grape juice, to a canoe that will stick itself to you if you’re wearing green! Billy drops few Krall with his gold auto rifle, and then tosses a grenade which kills a few more. He ducks as a missile goes flying over his head and hits the entrance of the Anomaly Vault. Billy: The amount of energy these objects have is insane! If Thyrus gets ahold of them, he’ll absorb their energy as well and have double the power he already has! He will be nearly unstoppable! Billy shoots a few more Krall and hides behind a barricade to reload. He sees a Bubby tank fire a few rounds into the air before it gets blown up by a Krall ship. The ship was then shot down by a missile turret and it crashed into the roof of the Anomaly Vault. Orûnn: EVERYBODY MOVE! Billy and a few other Bubbies lunged out of the way to avoid debris that was crumbling down on them. Orûnn makes a swift dodge as well to avoid a chunk of the Krall ship. The battle was complete and utter chaos, and neither side was showing any signs of backing down. Orûnn summoned a thick cloud of dust and the Bubbies began to pick off Krall who were struggling to see. For a moment they were able to effectively hold off the onslaught, but the Krall had plenty more to give. Paltat: Give me cover while I move this debris! Paltat started to toss chunks of the Anomaly vault out into the battlefield. Moving the debris would allow them to get back to their original positions, and maybe the debris would wind up landing on some Krall. Billy: Krall tank! Light it up! A Krall tank appeared from the cloud of dust and was met with heavy fire from missile turrets. The tank was able to get off one shot before it blew up. Orûnn and Billy felt the heat of the tank blowing up, the whole thing becoming engulfed in red flames. Orûnn: Keep tossing that debris Paltat! We can’t lose this position! Orûnn became engulfed in dust, and his whole body surged with energy as it shot down his throat. He shook his head, looked down at his hands and then the rest of his body, confused by what just happened. He looked up to see if his dust cloud was still there, and it was. Orûnn never called any dust back to him, so he thought that something was wrong. Then it hit him. Orûnn: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Orûnn’s scream was enough to shock Billy and some other Bubbies who were close by. Billy looked over to Orûnn and saw him leaning over something, shaking it back and forth. Billy ran over to him, trying not to get shot by incoming fire. Billy saw Orûnn leaning over Paltat’s body, and he was trying to get him to speak. Orûnn: Speak to me Paltat! Say something! Orûnn’s voice was hard to make out over the sounds of yelling and gunfire. Orûnn and Billy stood there, looking down at Paltat who was now dead. Only the upper half of his body was there because the lower half had been blown off. Paltat was Killed by the tank when it fired... There was no way he could’ve dodged the shot. He was gone and there was nothing they could do about it other than fight harder. Making their way closer to the Bubbies were five Krall units called Wardens. Wardens are Krall that wear large, heavily armored exo suits, and wield large heavy blasters that weigh four hundred pounds. The blasters can shoot large beams of energy that are capable of melting the walls of the Anomaly Vault if they get too close. Orûnn: Billy, I’ll take care of these guys. You just focus on getting more barricades. Billy: You can’t take those guys on by yourself! We won’t be able to help you if you go too close to them! We may shoot you by accident! Orûnn: This battle is getting nowhere, and Emperor Thyrus has yet to show up... So I’m going to draw him out. Orûnn made a massive leap into the air and let out a jaw splitting scream. The scream was so loud that it brought the battle to a complete stop. The turrets stopped shooting and the Bubbies and Krall lowered their weapons. The tanks all stopped shooting and there were no more ships darting through the sky. Everything was eerily silent and the air smelled of burning oil and dust. Orûnn dropped down only ten feet from the five Wardens, and the impact he made shook the ground. The Wardens raised their massive weapons and they began to charge up. The red glow within them became bigger and bigger until the weapons themselves were completely engulfed in bright red light. Krall Warden: I have no idea what you’re supposed to be, but I’m going to enjoy obliterating you! All five Wardens fires at once and unleashed a fury of blinding light. The Krall and Bubbies jumped for cover as large chunks of the ground were blasted into the sky. The amount of power that was being unleashed all at once made ships shake. The top of the Anomaly vault began to crumble again, and pieces of the building began to pile up in front of the entrance. The blasts came to a stop and the Bubbies and Krall could see again. Some of them came out from cover to see what had happened. Billy peeked over from behind his barricade, knowing that Orûnn was nothing but ashes. Billy: *gasp* WHAT!? The dust settled, revealing the Warden in the front with a massive black spike impaled through his head. The spike was long enough to keep his body from falling to the ground. Two of the other wardens had multiple spikes that had burst out of their suits and their was blood dripping off of them. The last two Wardens were on top of each other, torn to pieces like cardboard. They looked like a heap of scraps and most likely flesh as well. Billy spotted Orûnn standing amongst the carnage. He was covered in blood and he was standing completely still, not moving a muscle. Standing a few feet in front of him was Emperor Thyrus. Emperor Thyrus: ............... Well that was quite a spectacle, Orûnn. Orûnn looked at him, expressionless. Emperor Thyrus: ............... I would very much like to see more.
