The sky was clear and blue in OffTopic today. Ships, birds, and other flying creatures dotted the sky going about their daily routines. Blub sat in deep thought inside of his hut, which was now a bit cramped being that he was larger than he was when he had made it. He spent hours sitting and tossing the gravel that was on the roof of his building. Not too long ago he was in the forest screaming at rocks to let out his rage and had a few helpful conversations as well. Gannathon was a bloodthirsty monster who would probably kill anyone he came across if given the chance. Blub believed that he should be training to fight him again, but he was exhausted and wasn’t sure if he would strain himself too much.
Something had crossed Blubs mind as he was lost in thought, but not anything relating to Gannathon or training. He floated off of the four story building, down to the sidewalk in front of it. He had never gone inside of the place since he got there, and now seemed like a good time to go in. The building was very modern and clean looking, but there was nothing too special about it. It was in one of the slightly less populated areas that was extremely close to the edge of OffTopic. Blub walked inside and was surprised by how clean the place was. The walls were white and the lights seemed as if they had just been changed. Blub saw a large, gray front desk with some kind of mechanical being standing behind it. The robot was silver and very angular with blue lights throughout every edge of its body. Blub walked up and decided to start a conversation.
Blub: Hello, my name is Blub. I live on top of the building if you didn’t know. I got here not too long ago and thought that I should get to know who else lives here.
The robot made a few whirrs and beeps from within before it spoke in a female voice.
????: Hello. I am DeskUnit-15-A. Please vacate the premises immediately.
Blub: Could you at least tell me if you have space available for me to move in?
DeskUnit-15-A: We currently do not have room available for new occupants. No individual or individuals may occupy the roof as living space. Please vacate the premises immediately.
Blub: Is there any way you could let me stay up there until I find an actual place to live?
DeskUnit-15-A: No. No individual or individuals may occupy the roof as living space. Please vacate the premises immediately.
DeskUnit-15-A grabs a large, silver rifle from under the counter and aims it at Blub. Blub takes a step back and attempts to say something else, but the rifle begins to glow blue as it charges up. Realizing that that the robot cannot be reasoned with, he backs up to the door and begins to leave. Just as he pushes the handle, a blue beam hits him right in the shoulder. The stinging is intense for a moment, but it stops. Blub now feels something strange and exhilarating, like an insane amount of adrenaline was released throughout his body.
Blub: You saw that I was leaving.... and yet you still shoot me?
Blubs pupils become extremely small extremely fast, and his skin color starts to change with many different hues of green.
DeskUnit-15-A: Please vacate the premise-
Before the robot could even finish its sentence, Blub had ran up to it, ripped the gun from its hands, and smacked it in the head with it. The bot hit the ground with a loud clang and stopped moving. Blub just stood there for a bit with no clue as to what feeling had overtaken him. Could it have been rage, happiness, depression, pleasure? That didn’t matter right now, but what did matter was that Blub needed to leave before anybody saw him. He got out of the building as quickly as possible and took to the sky in search of a new home.
Blubs first thought was to head off in the direction of the center of the city, but not super close to the larger buildings. He touched down in a very active area with lots of stores and apartment buildings, but he didn’t want to live in an apartment building. What Blub wanted was a place where he could hide easily, and what better place to hide than somewhere with a lot of activity?
Blub: ...... There......
He had spotted a large parking lot within a group of stores surrounded by lots of trees. Sometimes highly populated areas tend to have sweet spots that nobody cares to go to, and this parking lot seemed like one of them. Once Blub got close, he noticed that the parking lot had seemed to be under construction for a while, but had stopped at some point. As he scouted the area, he noticed what what looked like an entrance that led under the parking lot at one of the corners. Blub walked down a small flight of stairs until he was under the lot, and then had to make a few turns down short hallways until he came upon steel double doors. Blub grabbed the handle and pulled down on it hoping that it would move.
And it did....
Blub slowly pushed the door open and peeked inside. He was expecting to see either the base of operations for an illegal weapons manufacturer or the nest of a kidney hoarding flesh monster, but he instead saw an empty, unfinished room of some sort. The concrete walls were covered in dust and had orange marks and numbers sprayed on it from when it was still undergoing construction. The room was large and very dimly lit by old yellow lights on the ceiling. Parts of the wall and ceiling were cracked or completely busted open, exposing pipes within. There was chunks of concrete all over the floor that Blub had to kick out of his way. Blub would have a lot of tidying up to do, but this place would be his lair.
His new home.
