My Senior class set it up for April 22 and a lot of people want to go to the beach and just hang out for the whole day. Apparently the teachers are cool with it so they'll let it slide.
Did your Senior class set one up and did you do it?
-
My senior class had one. I didn't participate and my teachers gave the few seniors who showed up benefits. Because I showed up I got an extra 100 in two classes, got to use notes on an exam and had an awesome relaxing day.
-
Sure, we had a few different 'senior' days including a senior prank day, but I never really got involved in any of it since the faculty never really 'endorsed' it. Kind of glad too, because back during my senior year those idiots planted a giant tree in the middle of the football field and got mega busted.
-
Nah, people who participated didn't get to walk at graduation.
-
Nope, just Exam leave and then that was it.
-
Yeah, we had one and I went. We took a road trip to a laser tag arena about 100 miles away. That was fun, but then everyone decided to go to the casino since we were in the area. Being I wasn't 18 yet and didn't get in, that got pretty boring.
-
Kinda, on graduation night they had kind of a huge party for all the graduating seniors that lasted until 6 am in the morning. If you went, you got to skip the next day. There was never anything official on other days.
-
Yeah, and they had a crawfish boil.

Edited by Jotaro Kujo PhD: 4/11/2014 7:42:25 PMMy school has both a junior and a senior cut day. I didn't do the former and I don't plan on doing the latter. There were literally only 5 people in each of my classes, so we just -blam!-ed around all day.
-
Edited by CaptKrunch: 4/11/2014 7:28:36 PMIt's coming up. We're all going to the beach for the entire day pretty much. Last year some teachers actually went with the seniors lol.
-
Yeah. Dunno when it's set. Probably in May sometime.
-
Yes. But it should hardly be considered "hooky" or "ditching"
-
Kind of. I went to a Catholic school and there was a compulsory end of semester mass after the final exam period. My friends and I walked to the movies instead, I think about 10 out of 150 people from year 12 turned up.
-
Nah, ours didn't. Surprising, really.
-
Indeed we did. I participated.
-
Our asshole principal said that we wouldn't walk for graduation if we skipped.
-
... Here, we do it quite differently. People come in and do strange things on their last day. One year a sheep was let loose in the school, a boat was somehow put on top of the PE building, a hamster was in the vending machines, viagra in the water fountain, a guy running in pretending to be a suicide bomber and dumping plastic balls from a ball pit all over the main hall, water balloons and eggs thrown at people, bleach in water guns and people driving their car along, releasing flour from it as they went. Finally, they also called a crane into school so it just sort of sat there while the driver was confused. Fun times. The teachers forbade us to go out of school for lunch due to the waiting seniors with their projectiles. They didn't think we'd all run to the other exit at once.
-
No, because my class sort of cared about school and weren't high on the senior vibe.
-
I wasn't really "in the loop" on that kind of stuff back in high school, so if there was it was a day I went in regardless. Oh course, I spent a lot of the last semester of my Senior year suspended, so I might not have been there for it anyway.
-
Edited by EL: 4/11/2014 4:33:29 AMI did not join my class. I was too busy busting my ass to graduate on time.
because my senior ditch day started sometime sophomore year. :D
-
Yes we did. We even had a sleepover at the school one night on the front lawn. We have like 13 hammocks set up and like 5 tents.
-
Yeah there was one, I didn't participate. Five classes where I was literally the only student who showed up. I didn't have to do any real work after that and I got to play a card game with another student (different class).
-
When I was in senor in 2011. Every day was a "ditch day" unless you want to graduate.
-
Edited by CAMMCAM: 4/11/2014 3:44:20 AMOf course we had one. I didn't do it because every other day was a ditch day for me. Stay in school, Kids.
-
I didn't participate in it. My AP teacher was cool with only about 5 people in class. The people in the class decided we should have our own small party, so a few of us went to the supermarket across the street, grabbed some popcorn bags and soda, then we watched Tropic Thunder until lunch period was over.
-
Yeah it was called "Senior skip day" for us. I didn't bother participating.
-
Yup. Left in the middle of passing period to our park right next door where we played volleyball.
