After having used threaded specter for most of a trials reset after facing an entire team using it with double dodge, I think it's too versatile and effective in pvp. It's in effect mobile cover, radar bait, aim assist drag, land mine, and zurg rush.
I was using it as a shoulder to snipe over which I thought was funny.
Even one player using it is effective, but 6 specters from three players in trials catches aims assist blocks projectiles and pings so much as to almost not be worth engaging. Specifically a problem in small map zone capture like trials on Pacifica. Not sure anywhere else, probably less of a problem on large maps
is a very effective counter to very aggressive play.
Edit: fixed wording to more clearly indicate I meant trials

1 ReplyWhat if they gave it the Mask of Bakris treatment? Your dodge doesn’t start recharging until the decoy is destroyed. Other option would be for it to block and receive damage from friendly fire - keep people from using it as a mini-barricade.
-
2 RepliesNot really hard to fix.. make them die as a group to one shot and not travel so far with the fragment. Imo less annoying than freeze turrets and void buddies and barricades who have way too much health. Hunter's definitely abuse it but uptime will go down next season with Thorne and checkmate resil meta coming, Hunters have to run more resilience because resilience is required and they have to give up something to get resil...

It doesn’t need to get hit in pve because of PvP.
-
4 RepliesA good starting point would be would be to make it where threadlings only spawn if an enemy detonates or destroys the decoy. Or when the decoy is up the user does not regain class ability energy until destroyed.
-
17 RepliesBarricade is all of those as well except radar bait.
-
7 RepliesOr, and follow me on this, Bungie can implement Checkmate in all PvP modes and make them preset loadouts, that way they won't have to keep nerfing and buffing everything in the game. And before anyone hops on to give the usual "typical Hunter response" nonsense, I'm talking about nothing getting nerfed anymore; Titans, Warlocks, Hunters, weapons, abilities, nothing.
-
I'd argue removing radar bait and aim assist drag. It's from a class ability. Combine that with Radiant Dance Machines and BOOM. Become the Spectre.

18 RepliesI'd much rather have 6 threaded specter hunters that 6 pk overshield cheeseballs . The amount of people to scared to fight without an overshield is pitiful . And the amount of pkayers that just jump ship because something is busted is also pitiful . That's why it's funny to see how many people swap to hunter from titan in checkmate . Boohoo no ability spam . My personal hope is that bungie takes checkmate and makes those rules live in all pvp . That's or just removes overshield from pvp period.

PVP is an afterthought for D2. This has been the case for years. Remember to ‘just adapt’

2 RepliesPersonally got fed up with any strand subclass in trials, it's the skilless crutch. Personally would rather see trials kept to Light subclasses,
-
9 RepliesIt needs to be tuned for sure... Strand Warlocks are called "Broodweavers" but hunters are definitely the zoo keepers in D2 right now ... It is going to be a Shame though because if they nerf threadlings, warlock will be gutted because of hunters ...
-
6 RepliesStatis turret is worse imo. It has too much range
-
25 RepliesLmao here we go again . More individuals asking for hunter nerfs in pvp... Titans and warlocks are unbelievably over-tuned compared to hunters in ALL aspects in PvP. Titans have absolutely no business being able to out manoeuvre a hunter yet they can with their non stop dashes and perks that make them speed run. Don't get me started and the still contestant use of barricades and over shields after every -blam!- kill. Warlocks flying the air at insane heights on top of their ability to ALSO out manoeuvre hunters in all aspects. Their contact healing and sitting in their damn wells all match. On top of their -blam!- void and stasis buddies they send out which constantly give them an advantage in pvp. Hunters finally get something to grief you guys with and now you call for nerfs 😂😂😂 nahhhhh it's staying the same. Stop crying. Thanks 👋
-
45 RepliesId rather deal with strand than invisible cowards Going invis 3 times in 30 seconds is broken Can a titan put up 3 barricades in 30 seconds? Can a warlock put up 3 rifts in 30 seconds?
-
1 ReplyWe need something to fight over shield titans.
-
21 RepliesOr we can stop complaining about non issues?
-
And Hunters call Titans crayon eaters. A bunch of people have said the Decoy Subclass is the new Crayon Eaters. I mean, click a button and you now having explosive dog siccing clone. People whine about Barricade making you one shot, but at least the barricade doesn’t explode and chase you down.
-
1 ReplyYeah I don’t get how they nerf YAS (thus making them terrible in pve) and not specter when spec imo is way more oppressive than tripmines. This is why I just don’t play pvp, they can’t balance anything to save their lives.
-
1 ReplyHunter is the easy class tho
-
16 RepliesJust undo the nerf on Stompees and nerf threaded specter cool down. It is insane to fight a team of 2-3 strand hunters in pvp and be literally able to not fight without killing 20 specters. Titans keep getting nerfed they will soon be last on the list of played toons.
-
lol, yes they are pretty obnoxious haha.
-
4 RepliesI think their blast should be quicker and somewhat stronger but they shouldn’t release threadlings.
-
That thing is almost the 7th or 4th man in matches. Nice to see hunters using their ingenuityyyyyyyyyy!
