I was just warned of getting restricted due to my networking issues, except I have none. My internet is a wired fiber connection in a major city and I have no issues normally.
I do however have a consistent issue of Destiny disconnecting me since Beyond Light came out. I love the expansion so far but this is happening near constantly on Europa drastically hindering my enjoyment and progress. Now I see that now only do I have to endure this due to technical issues on Bungie’s side but I also might get banned for it?
Surely you aren’t actually going to start banning players who are experiencing technical issues due to server issues unrelated to them. This is a serious issue already please don’t make it worse by punishing players experiencing problems rather than fixing the problems.
@kollin4 same here. Just received this warning and it is not my connection.

I logged in to Destiny today and received a message from Bungie warning of restrictions for poor network connectivity. Yesterday in game, I kept receiving the error message 'contacting Destiny servers' but didn't know why. Occasionally booted to orbit from the tower for no reason.
- Not experiencing connection errors with any other service
- I use a wired Ethernet connection with 100Mb down and 40Mb up
- I have played Destiny since the Beta release and never received this message
- I ran speed tests on the PS5 and with the ISP and both confirm this connection speed (close to the maximum), with 7ms ping
My connection is good and there must be some other cause - more likely with Bungie, Sony or the ISP. The PS5 is new, perhaps there is a fault with the console, but no other issues are apparent. Streaming services run without issue.
I followed the link Bungie provided at Bunie.net/restrictions to the Playstation support site and Sony had this message:
"You may experience somewhat slower or delayed game downloads because we're working with ISPs to manage download traffic. We believe it's important to do our part to address internet stability concerns as an unprecedented number of people are staying home and practising social distancing. We appreciate the support and understanding from our community."
Could this be the cause of connection issues? Bungie is needlessly restricting Playstation players for a Sony issue?
Despite being a loyal player the last 6 years, Bungie falsely accuse me of poor network connection without properly investigating the cause. My enjoyment of the game has been affected by these issues which are not at my end and Bungie add insult to injury by threatening restrictions? Where is the incentive to keep playing? I do not manipulate the network. The problem has always been that Bungie do not provide dedicated servers.
Bungie, please investigate and acknowledge there is a wider problem and not individual users.
