140 and 120 HCs are kind of the only meta choice in Checkmate as it stands. 450 ARs need Target Lock to compete. They honestly need some kind of aim assist nerf. HCs are low risk/high reward and it’s sort of making Checkmate stale. Inb4 Elitist Rage
Main reason why HCs are so good there is the amount of teamshotting that lingers in every match of it. HCs alone isn’t that much better than how other Primaries are, except for underperforming ones and Igneous Hammer as a outlier, but pair it with a teammate, the chunk damage HCs do makes them very easy choice for kills.
I'm not going to debate the validity of your opinion as I don't play anywhere near enough PvP to do so but I do have a question for you. When so many players clamored for more gunplay in PvP and Bungie obliged, not just with increased ability cooldowns but also with reduced special ammo, what was actually expected to happen? Isn't it a given conclusion that primaries such as HCs would become the go-to weapon in the mode?
Edit: Let's not forget about bows either, since that seems to be a pain point lately on forum as well.
