Stuff you’re randomly good at in games.
My efforts to sleep have left my mind rambling instead, and my thoughts have brought me to this: “Why do I like sniper characters?”
I’m a shit sniper; I’ll be honest about that. Having said that, there’s moments where I’ve somehow managed to get three headshots in a row or landed a critical blow against the enemy in ways that I should not have achieved with my level of skill. It’s happened multiple times.
With that, I’ve gotten the idea for this thread here. If sniping is something I’m randomly good at, then what’s something you folks are randomly good at?
The primary focus will hopefully be stuff outside your normal playstyle, but If you’ve got interesting stories outside of that criteria I’m certain they can still find a home here.

3 回复[b][u]seeing the future in PvP[/u][/b] when I see an enemie (regardless of distance) I can predict what he would do. works after a few minutes in a match. I can also predict (only) one player for a whole match.

1 回复When I'm tipsy I'm a PvP god in most PvP games. As soon as I sober up I'm trash like crazy.

2 回复As I was looking through my games, I found that usually it’s the opposite for me. I’ll have things I’m reliably good at, but I’ll completely & utterly fail every now & then. I do have a proper answer, though. Enter the Gungeon! Now, I don’t mean to brag (okay, yes I do), but I’d say I’m pretty good at this game. Not pro-level or anything, but I haven’t had it that long, and already have shortcuts 1-4 (out of 5), beat two super secret bosses, beat the Dragun twice, unlocked The Robot, amd crafted the Bullet that Can Kill the Past. But despite all that, I find my skills vary wildy both ways. Now, some of that is just due to the game’s Roguelike nature, but not completely. So, I can reliably get to the boss on Floor 3, though whether or not I beat it is up in the air. Sometimes, when I have the best guns, a great set of items, and 6-7 hearts, I’ll get hit by absolutely everything, and die anyway. Despite this, I can have awful items, only 1.5 hearts, and only my starter gun, yet somehow manage to beat the boss flawlessly with no damage. The weirdest part is this can happen mid run. I’ve had times where I get completely destroyed on Floors 1 & 2, but completely turn around on Floor 3 and make it all the way to the end.

You know, I’m kind of amazing at Hollow Knight. I’m not god tier, by any means, but I’ve beaten every boss save one on Ascended (double damage), and about half of them on Radiant (one hit-death), visited every single room, unlocked got 16/20 Bindings, etc. but by far my two most impressive achievements are completing the Pantheon of Hallownest (a boss rush against every boss in the game), and getting the Void Idol (beat every boss in the game in the Hall of Gods). Why are these my greatest achievements? Because both involve defeating Absolute Radiance, who is without a doubt, the hardest challenge in the game. I’ve only ever beat her twice—once in the Pantheon, and once in the Hall. And they were both complete flukes. Hahaha, I can’t beat the Absolute Radiance! I got lucky! My platinum trophy almost feels like more of a consolation prize, honestly.. But man, when I beat her, I was dodging like crazy, all over the place, somehow managing to get some lucky hits in during all the chaos. It was crazy!

I don’t know what it is but my grenade throwing skills are yanky danky doodle shite. I don’t know how people can just seemingly randomly throw grenades that just so happen to land in front of my feet 100% of the time. Then there are times that have me convinced I am a master of gravity and physics.

Counter sniping in any game. Can’t snipe normally for the life of me but counter sniping? 197/217 snipers killed a few got past me by playing smart but usually end up dying due to other people. Also shotgun warfare in any game. Not that pussy get close shit I mean that “HOW THE HELL DID HE KILL ME FROM THERE?!?” Moment that you get when you get cross mapped by a shotgun

I'm not very good at clone hero (fan made guitar hero/rockband), I only play on medium because I'm bad at switching to/from some notes/frets. But on occasion they'll throw a whole bunch of different notes really fast and I'll do the part perfectly even though I'm processing none of it. Similar thing in halo's swat mode, where I'll screw up aiming but I get a ton of quick swipe kills. I also used to be weirdly good with grenades, stickies specifically. I would piss off my brother all the time because he'd have the high ground with a sniper half the map away, he'd miss a shot and I'd turn and stick him. I'm just decent now, but I can still get frags to bounce where I want. Was genuinely surprised when I first heard that people thought reach's 'nade launcher was hard to use.

Halo 3 is the only game where I can actually aim with a sniper. It's the only game where I consistently outmatched one of my friends who used to be in one of those try hard groups, much to his annoyance. Battlefield 3 I was excellent at essentially assassination. Knife and C4 were my primary weapons, I could take down any tank (that included the #1 tanker, I can break through spawn camps against tanks within minutes just to ruin his day). I could track down any player whether air, sea, or ground, and I was adamant about getting dog tags of those i deemed worthy to be targeted. And I almost always succeeded.

2 回复You know, I’m not reliably good at Splatoon. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m reliably first or second on my team, but rankings are determined solely by how much ground you inked, which comes from my sneaky assassin side, where I slip behind the enemy and paint the stage red! Or.. Whatever other color I am. But when it comes to actually splatting (killing) other players? Holding the line? Providing an escort? Well, let’s just say I am [i]not[/i] reliably at the top of my team. With that being said.. I’ve gotten a triple team wipe on the enemy before, held off an entire team by myself, and escorted a Rainmaker across the entire stage as her only bodyguard, while under near-constant fire. It’s aways like “What the heck just happened!? Well, it ain’t happening again!”.

Idk, I'm pretty consistent with what I'm bad and good at. Example: I'm garbage tier with guns in games, but bows, ez pz. Always been a good support/healer. Though, I guess there's an entire genre I'm randomly good at. Rhythm games. Most of the time I barely scrape by, but sometimes, sometimes I get into a groove, and I'm amazing.

My brother is deadly accurate. His aim is spot on and terrifying for someone who just stayed playing shooters. Beating him in a shotgun or sniper battle is like battling a pro. But his tactical skills are very disappointing, and that’s the reason he isn’t a god at video games by now
