Grinding for a specific weapon in Gambit feels REALLY -blam!-. You heavily rely on the engrams from rank-ups instead of drops from post-game rewards. In the time I play 2-3 crucible matches and get like 2 engrams/guns, I get 0-1 per gambit match. It feels so unevenly balanced in the loot distribution. No wonder people avoid Gambit like a plague, if it rewards so little for the annoyance it brings playing it for many.
