Just announced today by Activision...
It sounds like they've removed a mission from The Taken King, which costs $40, and have made it so it's only accessible by getting a code from a can of Red Bull.
Discuss.

ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT!!! Just another example of activision ordering bungie to cut friggin content in which their "promotion" with red bull, will net them MORE MONEY!!! Thank god I'm done with this game. I love the hilarity of the forums though watching fanboys squirm and try to defend this game though...

Beginning to think how much that quest is actually worth, seriously, it's a quest mission, right? So is it actually worth biking/driving/walking down to the 7-11 (which, in my case the nearest 7-11 that actually sells red bull is in Albany, which is about a 70-100 miles from where I live. And even if the store closest to me sold red bull that would still be about 20-30 miles. Not fun) and purchasing a red bull can, that isn't actually sold everywhere that is available to some people like myself, and then we get a small quest? I for one think it isn't worth the effort. And this is just a scam to get more god damn money

Everyone complains too much.... So, red bull decided to pay money to bungie for them to develop an exclusive mission for their costumers. Why is that wrong?! Its capitalism and you live in it. it wasnt a mission that was cut to be sold separately. They PAID bungie to develop it. It wouldnt exist otherwise.

So if I buy the taken king I'm getting even less value for my buck since there taking out a mission it also means I have to pay extra for a single mission like $40 isn't enough

I honestly can't believe Bungie is asking me to purchase a beverage that I don't drink, and is also harmful to my health, just so I can play a mission in there new expansion pack. Bungie don't you think that this is taking it to far? Do you not understand your community? Are you guys so hard up for money you have to team up with a company like Red Bull? If so I am really sorry for you guys. I can honestly say that I am actually considering boycotting the new expansion pack. I really don't want to, but if you guys insist on insulting the Destiny communities intelligence, and treating us like cash cows, I will have no choice. This is coming from a very concerned fan. Please stop with the ridiculous gimmicks. They are not needed. You guys have made a great game, be proud of what you guys have created. Do not destroy your image.

Correction- there are actually two fiery hoops a Destiny players must jump through for this exclusive content. Not only must they purchase a heart attack in a can, Red Bull drink, but they must also purchase their diabetes at 7-Eleven.

It was hard to imagine a company destroying their product and name in a short period of time from complete disregard of their customers complaints or concerns but we may be watching it take place right now. It's a shame to because this game has serious potential. But they really need to get a handle on this communication thing other companies use so well to keep their customer base informed and looking forward to a coming product release instead of looking for their pitch forks and the best target at the company to use them on.
-
It a timed exclusive. Like the deal they worked with Sony. It is content that the maker of Red Bull paid to have developed for Their customers. Not content you are paying for.
-
Wanna know how it'll be worse than it sounds now? The product code will be RNG. That means you might have to buy a case of Red Bull before you find one with a code to the mission. Most other codes will give you motes of light. Wait and see.
-
Impossible. You are trying to say Bungie cut some content out of their game so it can latter be played and sold back to a player as some form of DLC or extra content for buying another product ...... ....... ........ #sarcasm Sounds like Bungie business model hard at work again.

Redbull might not be everyone's favorite drink, but at least it's not bundled with Destiny 1, TDB, and HoW, and sold for $37.50 a can.
