Being charged £40 ($64USD) for the Taken King? No problem, I've got you covered! Follow this step-by-step guide and you'll be well on your way to playing TTK without being robbed of your hard-earned cash.
Step One) Buy TTK Legendary Edition for £36 on SimplyGames
http://deals.simplygames.com/p/destiny-the-taken-king-ps4
Step Two) Trade in your original copy of Destiny for £8>
Step Three) There is no step three! You've paid £28 for TTK. That's the equivalent of $40USD, the same price the lovely Americans are paying over the pond. Not only that, but when someone purchases your second-hand copy of Destiny, Activision LOSE out on money. The perfect way to fight corporate greed, everybody wins! :D

This isn't a solution, it's reinforcing the problem. You are still paying the price Activison are demanding, it still registers as a sale and further implies that the gaming public are gullible and will pay up no matter what, trading in the game to get the same game plus a bit more dlc? that's not a -blam!-ing win for anyone but the publisher!

Fortunately our USAican bretheren add their sales tax after purchase. As an example, a USAican friend I was in a raid with last night has just paid $64.something for TTK legendary edition, from a store, after tax (no, I can't remember which state he is in). That means that the £36 from simply games is CHEAPER up front than in that US state... The £40 that my clanmate just paid on Amazon... CHEAPER than that US state. Obviously this may not be the case in all of the states, but it goes to show that we are not being particularly singled out for being screwed.

I already posted it but somehow it got ignored. But the question is if it has the suros pack
-
Can't trade in digital versions. So its 40 notes or nothing for me. Luckily Friday is pay day
-
£40 for taken king or £50 for destiny , dark below , house of wolves and the taken king
-
Just a quick heads up, if you order from Simply Games you do not qualify for the Suros pack (Still worth the saving though). Got mine from there on Saturday and found out that in UK it is a Game exclusive (you will notice Bungie have changed the original Suros news item from "it is not exclusive to any platform or retailer" to "available from select retailers depending on your country". Nice of them to change their article two days before release and not publicise it. There are going to be a lot of people expecting it that will not get it tomorrow.

Fight the power my UK brother, I hope nobody thinks that U.S. American Guardians support Activisions pricing, I think it's absurd too.
-
I've the steelbook version of Destiny so I'd rather not trade that in tbh. But have Bungie even acknowledged the fact they are pretty much robbing the UK market? Physical = Destiny, 2 Expansions and TTK = £37 Digital = TTK = 40 So for supporting the game we get screwed over :/ how is this sort of thing allowed?

I already bought it from the xbox store for 40 quid. I've got a digital copy of the witcher 3 that I've never redeemed the code for that I got with the console, so I'll bang that on ebay and even if I get 20 quid for it, still means I'm getting TTK for 20 notes.

This isn't a solution. The company ends up with the amount they are charging and they input it as data that the amount is considered acceptable. Not a solution. They should boycott it, or accept they will pay whatever they are told to pay.

I got mine for £27.99, that's how much it was a few minutes after they put it on the marketplace. For some reason they bumped it up to £40 later.
