People saying kd doesn't matter usually have negative kds or are just buttcheeks. It's not an opinion, it's a fact that kd matters, numbers don't lie

K/d doesn't matter if over 1.0. I can play passive all day and get 10+ kills every game withtout dying. Is this fun? Yes with NLB, no with almost everything else. Are people playing sunbreakers better than others? Because with a sunbreaker you can't get negative and it ups your overall k/d. And OP guns? I almost exclusively play with challenge (=bad) weapons and on my hunter (pre TTK on warlock). Didn't delete any chars. And i still only average a 1.4 k/d but am top 1% in dtr and most other shit. So after your k/d evaluation i would be bad with 1.4 yet my ranking is way higher in almost every stat than 99% of the people here. K/d doesn't really mean shit other than +/-1. Play a game with people or look at their whole stats before you judge them. Or leave it.

Here is the problem with that. In true competitive terms: You would more than likely be matched with people of similar skill level to you. You win, you progress. You lose, you go down. Now heres the thing, if you are playing people of similar skill to you, then you would be very lucky to even break 1.2 for your K/D ratio. Those people who are almost the same skill as you, would have a similar amount of kills and deaths as you. Now that applies to games where a competitive mode is available (CS:GO for example). It does not apply to Destiny as matchmaking is based on connection, and there is no official competitive side to it, so you could stomp turbo scrubs for a higher k/d or get trashed and get a low k/d.

Maybe it matters to sweaty people. But you know that there are people (and hear me out on this) that only play for fun. (Woah mindblowing right?!) my kd is just under 1 and i dont even try at all. I lay back in bed and play without a care and im only like 20 kills apart from being positive. And most games a get over 20 kills and like 6 deaths and thats just me -blam!-ing around.

由NinjaMatic編輯: 12/1/2015 8:30:45 PMNumbers don't lie, but people use them incorrectly/don't understand how to apply statistics or take into account their biases... but I mean if you capitalised period it must be TRUE.

由xJPerk編輯: 12/1/2015 8:42:30 PMIt depends on the game type. If it's an objective gametype then someone with a low kd can still greatly help their team with good callouts, distractions and assists. Kd does not directly correlate to being someone who wins gunfights (1v1 both shooting at eachother). It can also mean someone who camps in the back of a map with an ads sniper. He might help the team with 1 or 2 kills and 0 deaths but he sure as hell wasn't helping with any objective or flank. Team work is more important then a high kd. Some people with high kds play like pussys and are afraid to get the job done worried if they die their kd will go down. In a game like destiny it's a constant grind and I'd rather complete a game sooner rather then later so sitting back padding your kd makes games take twice as long. I'd rather have a guy go 25 and 28 then a guy go 4 and 0 in a clash game.

Competitive ? Just because someone always wants to be better than someone else doesn't make pvp competitive in destiny although that is the gist of what it means. If so then every game that's been created since the beginning is competitive and then what's the point in stating its competitive if everyone knows? I'm confused.

It really doesn't. My friend and I were 2v3 in trials for the whole game (friend lagged out before match start) and both have negative kill death ratios mind you, the other team locked and loaded with Conspiracy Theories and pulse rifles and went flawless in Y2, and we simply went in, won 5-0, and got out.
Tl;dr, I 5-0'd enemy team with negative kdr and having only one teammate
What if you started out bad but kept getting better the more you got your butt kicked? Some k/d's dont seem repairable.

It only matters if you care too much about a video game. Unless you're getting paid to play this game it doesn't matter one bit.

It actually doesn't matter. If you have a 1.2 kd against sweaty players vs a 2.5kd against pure randoms, then the 1.2kd is best. Check guardian.gg it's better than destiny tracker. You only rank up based on the skill level of your opponents. If you're playing scrubs then your score will be crap but if you win against better guardians then your score will be better. That's the only true skill, guardian.gg

I have a low KD and I agree 100% because someone who kills 30 people and dies 33 times feeds the enemy way more points than someone who kills 18 and dies 15. KD is a great way to judge points earned against points lost. Sure in objective mode games it doesn't matter as much, but it's still a great way to judge productivity.

I say kills per game average and KD are most important in trials. Someone can have a high KD and only average 5 kills whereas someone can have a slightly lower KD and average 9 kills. I would take the 9 kill guy.

Kd matters in consistent competitive games yes. In a game as inconsistent as destiny, it does not
