How ya doin' fellow gamers?
Felt like bringing this old gem up for those who remember it, as well as those who've never played it.
Startropics is a 2 game series that was only on NES (thankfully is also now available on the Wii and U eshops)
You play as Mike Jones, a baseball loving kid from Seattle who visits the tropics to see his archaeologist uncle, Dr. Jones (no fancy fedora or whip involved though, sorry).
Upon arriving, you come to discover that your uncle has been kidnapped after a meteor shower in the area took place.
You embark on an epic quest that takes you from island to island in search of clues, helping locals and fighting plenty of monsters along the way, eventually confronting an evil from the stars beyond.
(... not to mention time-traveling in the sequel, but I can't mention much about it without spoiling the first one.)
Growing up, this was one of my favorite games and I felt like spreading the good word about it.
Think I'll keep this kind of thing up for a while.
Have you played this games before? What did you think about it?
If you haven't experienced it, I highly recommend the 2 titles. Overall, they can be fairly lengthy games and was worth the $50 - 60 they cost at release during the 90's.
I just started playing through this for the first time since the 90s. I frequently play Destiny for the last year and a half. As I started playing, I kept seeing the phrase " The Dark Below" in several places. Since that was the name of the first expansion to Destiny, could someone at Bungoe have been a Startropics fan?
