The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild, is game of the year 2017.
Well congrats to Nintendo, although I'm sure like the rest of us they knew.

Whenever a Zelda games get released, might as well not even bother with award shows because you know who's gonna take the big one home. Don't get me wrong I love breath of the wild but games like horizon zero dawn get way less credit than it deserves. I feel like Zelda games get a pass for many things that have already been done either more in depth or better in the past. I remember before buying Botw my friend was trying to sell me on the game saying "You can jump manually now".

It sounds like HZD was the winner in everyone's hearts... I didn't play the game but even I can realize it's polish and impact on gamers. Whereas BOTW's impact was more inert.

The only way someone wouldn't see this coming is if they were blind. It was obvious within the week it launched it'd be GOTY.

Yeah I knew that Nintendo was going to win now that they have something going for them I was hoping for horizon but I’m surprised Hellblade didn’t get a nomination. That game is a real experience. It’s something that everyone should play. As someone who has known many great people with some sort of mental illness, it really touched my heart and is a true work of art

Yea I'm a little split on this one. The game is obviously great, but there are definitely some issues that people just sort of glossed over because it's Zelda. The foremost of which, IMO, is the absolutely atrocious weapons fragility system. Didn't really feel like it added anything to the game except frustration with how -blam!-ing often my weapons broke.

Yeah I'm kinda bummed. I really wanted Horizon Zero Dawn to win. I loved that game and can't wait to see what they (Guerilla Games) do in the future, especially with the world they created in HZD. I don't think they are done with that world yet.
