All was quiet in the cosmodrome. Not a sound was heard, not a creature stirred. In front of the large fortress known as the Archon’s Forge there stood a lone Warlock, a helmet hiding his face, his identity. His Ghost was scanning the ground, looking for any signs of the missing guardian they had been hired to find.
“Footprints.” His Ghost said after he was finished scanning, “they lead into the forge.”
The Warlock nodded, and ventured inside. When they reached the Forge area, he stood pondering his surroundings. “Signs of a large struggle,” he said, observing the scorch marks on the walls, “splicer weapons. And Sentinel munitions. This is Giant’s trail, all right.”
They traveled deeper inside to the caves. “I’m detecting a faint trasmat signature,” his Ghost said, “I can’t seem to get coordinates, though”
The cave was full of large boulders, covering all pathways but the one that led in and the entrance to the Replication chamber. A broken trasmat pad was at the bottom, with the corpses of the Fallen littered throughout the cave.
“He used the transmat pad and caused a collapse in the cavern,” The warlock observed, “clever. Let’s head towards the Replication chamber. Perhaps there is something there that will aid our efforts.”
In the Replication chamber lay a small crate, a Spade adorning it’s top signifying that it was one of Cayde’s stashes. It was opened.
The Warlock narrowed his gaze as he listened to the message.
“The Exodus project, eh? There’s only one place in the known solar system where a colony ship is still intact: Nessus. If what this message says is true, Giant must be there. The splicers must be evacuating the Cosmodrome and regrouping on Nessus to try to claim more SIVA. Prepare my ship, Rook.”
His Ghost nodded and soon they were inside his jumpship.
“Don’t worry, Giant.” The warlock engaged the warp drive. “I’m coming.”
——Nessus, Unstable Centaur——
“Well, this is a fine mess I’ve gotten myself in, isn’t it?”
Battered and worn but still very much a threat, Giant kept hammering away at the horde of Splicers charging toward him, the snipers constantly chipping away at his defense.
“Just gotta hold out a little longer...” Giant said as exhaustion took its toll, “just...keep...fighting..”
As the Splicers started to surround him, Giant made one desperate push to survive as he whipped out his machine gun.
“Eat Arc, Splicers!” He yelled as he mowed down dreg after vandal, but it wasn’t enough.
Pain erupted from his chest. Giant ignored it.
Another hit, this time on his shoulder, but again he ignored it.
Another one, right on his helmet, but this one was some sort of void suppression round. As Giant fell unconscious, the last thing he saw was an Archon holding a large rifle, chuckling at his victory.
