Unable to install Destiny 2 on replacement drive on PS4
I have a PS4.
I replaced my stock 1TB drive with a supported 2TB drive. Formatted and setup. All games/apps downloaded from my library with no issues. However, Destiny 2 gave me a corrupted data error message after 24.50GB download of the data. I wiped the system with a hard format (5 hours) and ran the setup again and then downloaded D2.
Same issue with it stopping at 24.50GB.
I bought another new supported PS4 2TB drive and wiped it. formatted and downloaded D2.
Same issue. PS4 says its corrupted (oh the irony) and to remove and try again.
I did and you know that of course it still failed. All my other games have no issue.
I can put the original 1TB drive back and it works fine. I think trying 2 different drives and getting same results indicates the issue is not with the drives.
I bought the 2TB drive specifically to make sure I have room for updates and the games I like to play.
I bought the game before it came out on the PS store and have all the expansion packs. The total should be about 88GB. I really would like the game to actually download. Its very frustrating.
How can this issue be fixed?
You'll need to contact Sony concerning an issue with downloading and installing from the Sony store and systems.
The initial download process is entirely on Sony's end. You also didn't share what error you're getting so it makes it harder to give you a specific link, but I'd suggest heading over to Sony's website and searching for the error code.
Alternatively, you can contact Sony customer support concerning having an issue downloading a digital installation. It may be an issue with using a 2TB drive as opposed to a 1TB. Sony should be able to help you figure out what might be going on.
