He never was supposed to be a "Good God" who loves you and cuddles with you and only wishes good upon you. He's mother -blam!-ing God! He can do WHATEVER THE -blam!- HE WANTS!
When you were a kid and you had that little ant farm toy, you know, the one you PUT ANTS IN?! lol. You could take care of them...or burn those sons of bitches with a magnifying glass! You can kill the strong and leave them weak, you can smash the queen under your boot! You are the God of the ants in this situation.
All the people who thing God was benevolent HAVE NEVER READ THE STORY OF JOB! And if you never read this story, I'll give you a brief summary:
>Be Job
>Be uber blessed by God
>have shit load of farm animals, nice family, epic farm
>pray to God to thank him everyday
>God is talking to his bros up in Heaven (including Satan), wondering why Job is soo perfect?
>Then God asks Satan "have you found any sinners today?"
>Satan says "nope, but Job seems awfully suspicious! I bet if you took away your blessings, he'd curse your name and become a SINNER!"
>God takes Satan up for his bet, wrecks Job's house, family, farm, EVERYTHING
>Job = pwned
>Job is still praying to God and being a nice guy
>God realized he had made a mistake (in the Torah it says he made a wrong decision)
>Job's friends believe he is secretly a sinner and should repent
>Job says "no, I've never done anything wrong! Now I want GOD TO ANSWER FOR HIS INJUSTICE!"
>Job "presses charges" unto God, gives notice to Satan (who is the prosecuter)
>Satan tells God
>God shows up as a TORNADO and says: "WHAT YOU WANT JOB?!"
>Job says: "You destroyed everything I owned, my family, my livelihood. But I've done nothing wrong! Why aren't YOU punished for your injustice?!"
>God says: "Nothing on Earth is my equal, a creature without fear"
>then Job says: "I know that you can do all things; and the reason is unquestioned"
>God gives back all that he took away
>Job lives a long prosperous life
>fin
Now if you read the above summary of Job, you'll know at the end that God's motives behind his actions ARE UNQUESTIONABLE! Because he's God. He can do whatever he wants, because He's God. And we just have to deal with it. What people like to focus on in Job's Trial is that "you should be patient and pious and God will be kind to you, he will reward you. And if you lose something God will replace it with something twice as good." They tend to not focus on the fact that God isn't a good guy OR a bad guy, he can just do whatever he wants.
People pray to him so that we don't get pwned by God, Christians pray to him for BLESSINGS, Muslims and Jews pray to him for MERCY! In the Torah and Qur'an it never says God is a "benevolent being" like the Bible does.
Okay well you might say, the Muslims also call God "An-Nafi" which means "The Propitious, The Benefactor, The Source of Good". But we also call Him "Ad-Darr" which means "The Distressor, The Harmer, The Afflictor". God is BOTH the bringer of death and bringer of life, so he also must be the bringer of things that harm us and things that cure us...correct?
So yeah, this may cause a lot of hate, but it should open the eyes a little bit to people who thing God is the "good-guy", cause he isn't. God doesn't "work in mysterious ways", he just does WHATEVER THE -blam!- HE WANTS!
Just like the ants deal with us, we in turn, must deal with God.
tl;dr:
there is no tl;dr for you. Read it the above post or GTFO
Our New Testament says that "God is Love." Thank you for conceding that there is no concept of a loving, personal God in Islam, which many of your kind deny. God certainly can do whatever He wants. But He doesn't. Whereas humans go mad with power, God does not. The greatest proof of this is the Incarnation--God writing Himself into the story and suffering every human malady imaginable, not minding how degrading it must have been to be human. He also endured death for us which is the worst thing humanity has to deal with. A Divine dictator doesn't die for His people. Btw, your exegesis on the Book of Job is pretty flawed. I'd suggest reading GK Chesterton's commentary on it. The message of the book is NOT that God punishes and does whatever He pleases, but is that your lungs are too small to hotbox with God. The book is about deflating the human ego.
wrecks Job's house, family, farm, EVERYTHING >Job = pwned >Job is still praying to God and being a nice guy >God realized he had made a mistake (in the Torah it says he made a wrong decision)
1. God doesn't personally destroy Job's everything He permits satan to do so. 2. I've read the book of Job and it never says of God realizing he made any wrong decision. 3. From what I have read of it, the message of that book is that not all suffering is punishment from God. We will not always understand why things happen the way they do, but if we persevere through the hardship then God can reward us, like He did with Job; "So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning:..."(42:12). We should learn to trust Him, and things will get better. 4. "I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth."(Genesis 9:13-16) Of course God can do whatever He wants, it's His universe. However, I don't think I'm wrong in saying that God is benevolent in that He wouldn't just maliciously kill innocent people, and He will keep His promises if the other people do so as well, like in this piece from Genesis. He will send both the cloud and the (rain)bow; you will probably frequently suffer hardships in life, but they will get better if you can endure. And I'm pretty certain that's the theme of the book of Job.

You quote the bible as if its truth, yet the bible says God does indeed love us? Dafuq?

I couldn't take that very seriously with you using prey instead of pray. Decent post, nonetheless.

TL;DR, because every topic of yours is biased and obnoxious and I've seen better walls from children.

The 99 names of God in Islam is what God is. Each attribute is used differently depending on the situation and the person. Sometimes a person asks for mercy and since one of God's attributes is The Merciful then that person may get mercy. I could give more examples but you get the point.

So not only did God get trolled by Satan and is quite gullible, he's also pretty stupid. If he could do whatever he wanted, couldn't he just have read the guy's mind to see if he sinned? Or looked into his past? Tl;dr Gods gullible and a stupid asshole.
