I hope it is accidental.
The changes to the material exchange discourage higher level players from doing patrol missions.
I had been saving up materials to exchange for Vanguard Marks. I can no longer do that. The new system only allows you to buy materials. I have loads of materials I don't need to get them any quicker. There is now no reason for players to do patrols.
I had already found that there were often too few people to take part in public events now there will be even less.
I find that playing the same few strikes over and over again to get a few Vanguard Marks gets boring. Playing a few missions to collect some materials broke it up and made it more interesting. I like the public events but they can be difficult on your own.
Please re-instate the ability to sell materials AND also keep the new system for buying them. It is a more realistic system to be able to buy and sell and it will encourage people to play more parts of the game.
Thank you.

由Redenbacher09編輯: 12/2/2014 4:48:45 PM" ...It is a more realistic system to be able to buy and sell and it will encourage people to play more parts of the game." It's this part I primarily disagree with. Marks are specific to the faction for a reason - like gift cards to a retailer. I can not use a gift card at a different retailer than it was intended for (special circumstances withstanding). The factions, as far as I understand the lore, are specific to the Crucible. I think the real solution is that there should be more Vanguard vendors with additional configurations of armor and weapons that are PvE-focused. Maybe some PvE-specific perks - that could really mix things up nicely - like a fusion rifle that has a chance of overcharging non-Guardian enemies, causing the energy to jump to subsequent targets. PvE, in general, has less of a reason to be balanced. I would love to see PvE-specific perks on new weapons that are just a little off-the-wall.

the inability to sell items for a singular currency that's good for buying anything makes this game weird. Bungie has managed to create an economy that's more complicated than real life ones. Imagine if you worked a job that paid you different kinds of credits depending on what work you did lol? Singular, universal currencies in games allow people to be rewarded no matter how they choose to play.

I guess you wont feel the impact of less people doing public events anyways. Since the system just puts you together with people near you. So even if there are only 30 people patrolling or 3000 makes no big difference. If no one shows up to an event, you were just not lucky enough to have someone linked to the same instance

I would like to be able to get rid of unwanted materials (class specific materials, sparrows, ships, spinmetal, relic iron, helium, spirit blooms, etc) that continuously build up by some method other than "discard". I keep getting stuff that I can not use more than a fraction of. If it were possible, I could knit a full "Exotic" suit out of all the sapphire wire that I have.

The new material exchange rules... what can I say? If it aint broke don't fix it! It wasn't broke and the new changes were not fully thought out and also they didn't do research into why the exchange was the way it was. I think a new guy came along and didn't know how it worked and thought he could make it better. Really, it was fine (although I like the poster with the universal currency idea better). Now they broke pvp cause in order to get crucible marks to buy gear (except vanguard) pve'rs are going to HAVE to Crucible. AFK is going to be rampant in the crucible. So now that they 'fixed' the material exchange when are they going to fix the fallout Crucible will experience?

Everybody doesn't have an over abundance of gathered materials or marks. Most people are still using marks to purchase faction armor and even more so when the DLC drops. There will still be plenty of people farming. You will see less raid geared people farming, that's it. Bounties will still send people to do patrols as well and patrol missions will still give rep and exp. There's more than one reason to do patrols.

Exactly what level are you that your having trouble either preventing vex sacrifices, destroying the winter walker, defending the warsat, defeating the extraction crews and killing the target if your above 25 then their a walk in the park solo only time you may have a problem solo is on mars killing a target when you got the surrounding enemies laying into you besides that each event takes less then 2 minutes total.
-
Lol once again peeps are unhappy when something nice is done. Patrols aren't done or ruined I for one play the hell out of them. I do the bounties and in return if you've done the night fall on day one of reset you get more point for shit like that for every marker you get at least 12 13 rep point instead of 10 when u have completed the patrol bounty you get rep exp and now material for that patrol. They are the easiest bounties to do. I have three characters at one time we're all the same but I broke down a few and rebuild them. Warlock 29 Titan 29 Hunter 27 will be 29 if I can just keep sapphire. I run three times the stuff raids bounties weeklies nightfall Daileys all level 28 and both modes of raid. Don't give us this piss ant shit about patrol this patrol that.

Of course you complain you have too much materials Then if the system gets reversed then you will complain you have too many marks. Just stfu
-
To each their own. I prefered not having to farm. the other method didnt seem valid given the rate your earned. if they had 2-1 ratio of mats to marks, or even 5-1, that would make sense, but I could barely keep my mats for gear. im sure they will eventually make a middle ground.
-
Each update has been designed to squeeze out the solo players. Exactly why bungie is doing this I don't know but it is not an accident. Solos now struggle to earn anything other than mats and they have just been devalued. In short it is a quick kick in the balls for solos.

My only complaint in regard to public events is that I no longer get any rewards for doing them, hope this is a glitch and not permanent
-
Please explain.. What is the reward for completing a public event? How many rewards can you get a day? As it is now I have no idea. Do I have to check this kind of stuff every time they stick their greedy fingers inside and call it a patch! I used to get one shard doing the event and one in the mail. Now it's either nothing for doing it and a mote of light in the mail. Way to go and blam that up bungie! Why? Just because you can is BS! Stop messing with things that aren't broken!
-
Im glad you made a realistic post and not just rage, you made many good points. the 50 for 5 was a rip off off and I agree 100% that we should be able to trade them for something. I've got 180 spirit bloom, and 200 VG marks with no use for them. Hint hint bungie
-
I think they took it out so you couldn't buy martial from vanguard then go sell it for crucible points. I mean if anything lower how many pints you get. That is the only reason I can see why they took it out.

I have done 4 public events today, I've gotten 3 shards, 1 energy and 1 mote of light. They increased the % to get ascendant material from getting gold at public events, so what's the problem?
