Thank you. THANK. YOU. That recent Game Theory video made me want to cry. I've always loved his videos, as they are typically full of wonderous and fun information, but I wanted to unsubscribe after that video. You, sir, are a true guardian. I would be proud to stand by your side against the tide of Darkness.

Ha you are such a whiny and pathetic human. You think you know all yet you don't. When challenged you are led to erase your post and then cry. The fact of the matter is YOU DONT KNOW wether what you said is true or not. Are you part of the dev team? If not, then how do you know wether or not they will or will NOT make the traveler evil? They haven't said two words about him in the ACTUAL game. You take too much stuff out of context and shove it down people's throats then boast like a proud little boy about it.

>Be average forum user >Watch incorrect video >Get soo excited that incorrect details don't matter >Am now lore expert. >Go tell people who read every piece of lore & flavor text how stupid they are. >Get hit by a bus
That last part may be wishful thinking. But I think the rest is spot on
Too much salt... Need water...
http://m.imgur.com/a/Uh4MW
But seriously, have you ever considered that people enjoy this theory because it is a way better plot than we seem to have? Also, we at least know that when Luke Smith was asked if the speaker was evil in an interview, he refused to answer, and it was the only question he didn't answer. I know this does not necessarily say the traveler is evil, but it is interesting, and we really want an interesting story.

Not everything MatPat says is true but he always digs up some great supporting details.

Didn't see the original post, but I'm going to guess here: "There is only one version of the story and it's MINE! MINE! MIIIINE!"

Guys. How about this. How about we stop feeding the Good vs Evil Archetype. All the races, including us, and including the Traveller, are all just trying to survive and/or accomplish their own goal. I think the problem we have with the lore is assuming everything must be inherently "evil" or inherently "good".

I've avoided calling the traveller evil, I simply have always maintained that I don't trust it. We don't know enough about it to have any inclings as to what it's agenda or morality might be. The fact that it shares so little information about itself is suspicious. Despite all of the depositories of knowledge we've raided, we are given very little information... why is this being kept from us. Why is our memory a blank? The book of sorrow is very interesting. To me it suggests that we are just caught up in the middle of something that is much larger than we are. Stuck between two extremes who, in their extremity, are actually quite sisimillar, and we are just caught in their wake. When the hive we're created to fight and win the "Darkness" its freedom from the traveller it perused the traveller. Now the rolls are reversed, and the guardians have been created to liberate the Traveller. What will happen when we wake it up? Will it fight, or will it flee leaving us as it left the Fallen? And what roll do the Vex play in all of this? The traveller just is. We are led to belive that it is just, and right... we don't know any different because we aren't shown any other perspectives. We belive it is good because it helped us, but we don't understand its motivations.
