Help us get rid of excess mod components

Hey Bungie, maybe you could, in the future, let us mass dismantle unused mod components? Or maybe even allow us to trade them for other materials? I think they'd make a good currency to buy legendary shards if you have the right ratio.

  • Ugh! I have over 7000 Mod Components! Bungee should give us a way to exchange them for glimmer, planetary materials, upgrade modules, or something we can actually use. Jeeeeez Bungie! Help us out here!

  • The mods are definitely a problem. Also related: I am building up to many planetary resources since we can't buy legendary shards with them.

100mod components, 2 golf balls, 100 gun telemetry to randomly reroll a weapons masterwork. Curated and exotics may not be rerolled. The reroll would reset the weapon to tier 0 masterwork and it could roll the same masterwork again. This would address the issue of a a rotating loot pool, as chasing a weapon that is only missing a good masterwork feels bad esp when the item will eventually sunset. Lastly the cost should remain insanely high as I listed as not to devalue parts of the grind, which be honest with your selves here people and formulate your answer if you were Bungie. It needs to stay in place. Now what that cost/time is will be subjective.

            • Word. An entire row +1 on my next row of my inventory is just mod components, so basically if I started deleting them individually now wouldn't finish until 2026. Batch deleting the excess is a good idea, but for mod components it's absolutely necessary. Either delete them or allow us to trade for shards, cores, upgrade modules, e.t.c...

            • I have 5000+ of them. I refuse to stand there and pres a button to sell them to Banshee in lots of 25 or so, that's ~ 2,000 presses at about 1 second per press, which is ~ 1.4 HOURS of my time if I do it continuous. Does Bungle just not care anymore?

              • Take this with a grain of salt but I think I remember somewhere they might've acknowledged this. I think it was on twitter or something. But then again they've acknowledged a lot of things and never did anything after that.

              • For all the wanting to make Destiny an 'action MMO', Bungie really has never gotten a handle on the economy. There are too many currencies and no real exchange system. This has been an issue since 2014.

              • How about 10 mod components equal 1 upgrade core? I feel like some of us who have most of, if not all of the currently purchasable mods need an alternative that makes some sense. Some of us are already annoyed about the planetary materials of old being part of a module purchase. Especially when it's days on end of double sunset planetary materials. Make one upgrade module cost planetary materials, and one for mod components or another rarely used consumable. Rainmaker doesn't feel like it does what was intended. Why would I use a consumable that I can simply avoid by setting up my ghost for max glimmer increase? You gave us another option to obtain glimmer, which is noticably better yet the old consumable remains?

              • You know what. I think a good idea for mod components would be to use them in an arms day type of thing. Not exactly what we had in d1 but something similar to use mod components.

              • Just make it so if anything in inventory is dismantle it's one at a time. If it's in the vault when dismantled it's the whole total per item cube. This fixes any bugs in program.

              • Give me a reason to use my matterglass lenses while you're at it. Have over 200 sitting in my inventory right now that aren't worth the activation time because weapon telemetries aren't worth turning in.

              • Way too many currencies in the game. Just more of that false grind. We should be able to convert MC to upgrade modules at least. Maybe 2 to 1 conversion rate
