Updated 7 PM - [BUNGIE] Known Issue: Missing Currencies and Materials after Update 2.7.1

Hello all, We are actively investigating an issue where players may have lost some of their Glimmer, Bright Dust, Infusion Materials, and/or other types of game currencies. As part of the investigation, we are bringing Destiny 2 offline to prevent further loss of materials. We will provide updates here and on [url=https://twitter.com/BungieHelp]@BungieHelp[/url] as we determine the cause of this issue. [u][b]11 AM Update[/b]: [/u] We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific. [u][b]12 PM Update:[/b][/u] We are testing a fix for this issue internally, including investigating resolutions that would restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline while we test this fix. We will provide another update by 1 PM Pacific. [u][b]1 PM Update:[/b][/u] We are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. We will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific. [u][b]2 PM Update:[/b][/u] We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific. [u][b]3 PM Update:[/b][/u] We’re continuing work to fix the issue that caused loss of currencies and materials. All player accounts will be rolled back to the state they were in at around 8:30 AM Pacific. - Players may have to redo any progress or quests they completed between 8:30 - 10 AM PST. - Purchases made between 8:30 - 10 AM PST will need to be redone. Silver spent during that time will be restored. - Destiny 2 Silver purchases from the platform store will be added back to player accounts. - "The Pidgeon and the Phoenix" Lore being removed is a separate issue and will be resolved in a future update Another update will be provided around 4 PM Pacific. [u][b]4 PM Update:[/b][/u] We’re continuing to work on player account rollbacks and estimate that Destiny 2 will be brought back online at 7 PM Pacific. Stay tuned for more updates. [u][b]7 PM Update:[/b][/u] Rollback for player accounts is complete and Destiny 2 servers are back online. Players may experience login issues as services return to normal.

  • Here's what I have to say , I'm absolutely sure that the PEOPLE at Bungie didn't set out to cause mayhem in their own back yard and ruin the picnic we all enjoy . So how about you perfect people who NEVER make mistakes just back off and help these professionals get all the ENCOURAGEMENT they need to rectify this issue. BTW I enjoy this game because these individuals take the time to work on new ideas to keep our interest. You have no idea just difficult that job is . This is my day off and I had planned to play but I will be patient while your team works out the bugs. THANK YOU .

      Out of a lot of the feedback I have seen in the comments, I am disgusted by the amount of people here who are criticizing Bungie. Yes, they made a mistake. Yes, you are absolutely fine to be mad and you have every right. But to be toxic and insult the very company that is providing such an amazing game for you? It makes no sense. I understand the anger and frustration a lot of people are going through with certain things being rolled back, but it's the best they can do at the moment. They are trying to get the game back to as quick as possible with the best results. No game is going to have 100% upkeep and have no issues. Once again, I understand that this is unfortunate that this all is happening, but I know we shouldn't be directing our anger and frustration towards Bungie and the developers. They are trying their best, and anyone who chooses to be so toxic and utterly disgusting towards Bungie should get out of the forums.

        It's karma that this happened to Bungie right after the TWAB made a point to emphasize the "rigorous testing" planned updates go through before release. Nobody is buying the bullsh anymore Edit: 15 minutes til 7pm pacific...

        I already spoke my peace, but the more I've thought about it, the more I have to say specifically: While a rollback makes sense, players who on this very thread have pointed out they're now losing random exotic drops, god rolls, or substantial progress on pinnacle/harder exotic quests are totally getting shafted. It's no longer about losing a day of game time and replaceable consumables, but a very real impact on their in game experience, which very well may affect them for a substantial amount of time. I saw one person mention Igzanmi's burden being out the window for them now and someone else mention losing all their progress on the Iron Banner Quest that they're now stuck waiting on till the next one comes along. I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg.

          • Being upset is understandable but being upset and being a vile human being is a different thing. This is a game that people have invested much time into. I have gamed for many years and I get the anger and frustration. I also am not a mean spirited, petty, jerk. Feeling upset is effectively stated as "I am upset by the delays and mistakes being made." When you are disgusting to the people that you so obviously depend on for the little joy you get in this life, what does that make you? That kind of "Biting the hand that feeds you" is beneath the ability to have possession of proper manhood. That mental positioning will forever keep you alone. No person who swims in thoughts so toxic will come out clean. It will follow you IRL and keep you single, sad, and you will die alone. Don't be ugly or you will be seen as ugly. Simple as that.

                  Being patient is fine but.shouldn't detract from the need for Bungie own up to the fact that they have a horrible record of patch and update quality failures. I have seen heads roll for less in my 35 career as a systems IT design engineer. Someone owns this and should be held accountable.

                        • the only thing that can be read, is a lot of weeping people who have no more life than behind a screen ... I pay for all the dlc and I'm not crying because a server is down more than usual, there are a thousand games and more things to do, if they can't with this, then go to cry with your mom.

                        • Wait, hold on a minute. I know stuff happens, but I also can't help but call out BS when I see it. Didn't we just hear about the rigorous testing that needs to happen for the updates to go live last TWAB? Come on, this was really a damage control statement over how bad the bugs this season have been overall. How can you expect us to take anything you say in good faith when it very much looks like you just throw BS at us to cover your butts?

                          • I wanted to congratulate you for the speed in fixing the servers in just 13 hours, great !!! So when you put a new DLC first we play it and then after 13 hours we pay you, ok !!!

                          • What a joke SO MANY ISSUES with this game since Shadow Keep ... how many more players have just left Destiny 2 for good ? Griding for hours to get stuff and then find the game is broken and quests etc. that you spent lot and lots of time doing do not appear... very disappointing ... May go back to playing Doom ... new game out in March... You need to lift your game Bungie before you lose all your players or enough to make it to costly to continue ... Problem is spending all resources etc. on upcoming D3 which by the way was suppose to be released last year... AND Raids and PVP is not the B all end all...

                              I was disappointed, too. But I know humans are humans and I think (the mostly silent) majority appreciates your hard work fixing the problem. Some people take everything for granted, don't accept errors or delays. That's the loud minority. Don't listen to them. That's all. Thanks! PS: More green shaders :3

                              • Thanks Bungie. Instead of waiting for you, I switched to playing "The Outer Worlds". Having a blast with a game that doesn't steal all your materials, Silver (actual money), Glitter or Dust and plays buttery smooth at 60 FPS in 4K HDR on Xbox One X. Side note, Obsidian Entertainment only has 200 employees too.

                                • We appreciate the feedback. But what I cannot stand are fans that 100% focus on "toxic" complaints instead of focusing on the fact that bungie screwed up badly. You guys were able to fix and then roll back accounts today. Had proper testing been done there would be no extra time wasted correcting various accounts. There is some serious negligence going on at Bungie for this to happen. Yes I get it, maintenance can take longer and mistakes happen. But these are mistakes that should've been caught testing, it's not like a 1 in a million player issue where it may have been overlooked. Some of you need to stop white knighting about those complaining and put your soyboy attention towards the real issues.
